I think Cuddy would be good for a couple of years so long as he continues to smack lefties. We have enough left-handed bats to hit righties around for sure, so his liability against them isn't that big of a deal, and he's a clear upgrade over Raul (and almost definitely Polanco) in the batter's box, and he's not really a defensive liability, so I'm for the move. I'd like to see Brown just be the left fielder, but I have no idea where his head is at. Really, seeing as they won't be signing Pujols, Prince, probably not Reyes, and there really isn't a decent amount of starting pitching available for them to gobble up (and who had a problem with Halladay/Lee/Hamels (extend the bastard already)/Cupcakes/Worleybird anyway?) so as long as they are smart, responsible and don't give him more than two or three years, its a good move. Besides, I know giving these contracts for the mid-thirties guys sucks, and doesn't make much sense, I'm pretty sure he's younger than Polanco (and defintely Raul) when we signed them, so its not completely comparable. We'll see what happens. Kind of surprise Pujols or Prince don't have teams yet, but I often forget baseball free agency crawls... and football's off-season is fresh in my mind and that was just ridiculous.
