Yeah, his missing a couple of starts will probably end up being a good thing for the post-season.

well, either I'm not sitting far enough back, or my moment's not long enough, because this reality refuses to penetrate my brain

Yes, but in a double utley you can put your utley on top they other guy's utley, and you're the winner. (Swish)

If anyone wants tickets to the Tuesday afternoon game that is coming up for the Phils, let me know. Section 426 row 2 (near 3rd base). Face on tix is like $24 apiece. All reasonable offers will be considered.

I had two decent tickets to that game but now I'm in DC. Begrudgingly I gave them to my parents, those jerks.

Random question, and something that probably was discussed last October but I'm too lazy to look up the thread - on the final out of Halladay's no-hitter, the batter dropped his bat in fair territory in Ruiz's way of getting to the ball. If Ruiz hadn't been able to make the play, would that have been called interference and the runner would have been out anyway?

Zo:

Phillies recalled Brown and DeFratus. Selected contracts of catcher Erik Kratz, left-hander Joe Savery and outfielder Brandon Moss.

Hale:

To make room for Moss, Kratz & Savery on the 40-man, Zagurski, Juan Perez & Drew Naylor were DFA'd.

Wow, this is almost exactly what I would have done.

By Matt Snyder

Utley garnered the second-most votes in a Sports Illustrated poll of MLB players asking who is the "meanest" player in baseball. Only A.J. Pierzynski received more votes.

PETA wants you to know Utley's not a bad guy, though.

"A staunch defender of homeless, abused, and neglected animals, Utley not only founded the Utley All-Star Animals foundation with his wife, Jen, to help animals in Philadelphia but also starred in a national PETA campaign that encourages everyone to 'adopt, don't buy' dogs and cats," PETA said.

Also, according to the organization, "given the buzz around his fierceness on the field, [fans] might be surprised to learn that the people who should really fear Chase Utley are animal abusers!"
