I'm psyched to celebrate it. Still remember the last Sunday of 2007 like it was yesterday, the pit in my stomach that morning and the joy of the freaking Marlins wild'ing out.

I wouldn't put anything on until the Phillies game started. Refused to scoreboard watch until I absolutely had to. Watched the game on the couch telling myself something like, "This isn't happening, they'll blow it, etc." as a way of trying to contain myself. Remember when it got to the ninth and I let mytself accept it. Started jumping up and down wildly, screaming, "Nothing can stop it now!!!!"

Gave myself chills now remembering it all, also made myself realize what a sick bleeping baseball pup 1994-2006 had made me before the 2007 Phillies re-baptized me. It's amazing how much of a difference that getting to see that a run like this can actually happen makes. I am much more philosophical about the losses now.

It was nice how this game started slightly before the Phillies game and I was able to listen to the first inning on xm radio. I think I actually listened to most of that game on the radio intermittently while watching the Phillies game on my laptop.

I actually didn't see that game but I've heard about it enough times that I knew exactly what it was.

how many people remember him just missing another 3r bomb as well? iirc it was just left of the pole in left.

What he missed was a second grand slam. He hit the three run bomb.

I was just about to post this. I'll never, ever forget that game. Just like I'll never forget Kevin Millwood's no-hitter (lol) as it was the first I got to see as a Phillies fan.

I'm too lazy to look it up, who got the one run? It was Ledee right? Or was it Michaels?

Ledee, first inning home run.

Had a dream where Pence hit a large postseason home run caught by Gerry Hunsicker, and PhilliesPhans collapsed

Kind of silly to design that mural when they're gonna have to add in the 2011 WS stuff in a month

looks like both were sellouts.

side note, if the Phillies go 12-2 over their last 14, they will set the record for NL wins in the live ball era.

last two times i posted something like that they lost two or three games in a row. hope it works out better for you, `cause i really hate seeing the mets sitting at the top of that list.

the phillies have 5 of the best 13 era's among pitchers with more than 100 innings in the nl.
babip luck has hallday and lee "only" 3rd and 4th. then again good babip luck helps keep hamels as high as 7th. and then there is mystery wrapped in a miracle that has worley 9th and kendrick 13th. let's all take a moment to sit back and marvel: kyle kendrick is 13th in era among 73 nl pitchers with 100 innings. he is ahead of hudson, and oswalt, and carpenter. he is ahead of all but one braves starter. if anyone of you bet on any of those kendrick facts, let me know so that i can put you in charge of my stock portfolio.

How I would love to see this happen, but with most of the remaining games being meaningless, it seems unlikely.

But then, the 1986 Mets won the division by 21.5 games over the second place Phillies, so they must have won quite a few meaningless games themselves.

Incidentally, the Phillies were the only team to have a winning record against the Mets in 1986.
