That's even early 2009, isn't it? I think they stopped wearing the WS patch at some point that season.

I'm on record as wanting nothing to do with Rayass, but the comedy gold that would come out if we are in negotiations with him/get close to signing would be almost worth it happening.

I rather do something like this then have a 6 or 7 year deal.

So would I. I don't really want Reyes but if we get him I rather it be a 4 year deal that pays him more per year than a 7 year deal where the money is spread out. Really rather not have Reyes on the 2018 payroll making 18 mil a year when he can't even run.

I'd rather lose a draft pick than the prospects/players it would take to get Wright. Plus Reyes is more of a difference maker.

They've both missed significant time the past few years (Reyes more, I know). I would argue Wright's production has slipped more. Plus whether we like it or not, Polanco is here next year. I'd rather have him starting at 3B than Valdez at SS.

Maybe Rube's just trying to drive up the price on Reyes.

The Mets aren't trading Wright to the Phillies.

I want Reyes badly. Bring him to me.
I know what you're asking yourself and the answer is yes. I have a nick name for my penis. Its called the Octagon, but I also nick named my testes - my left one is James Westfall and my right one is Doctor Kenneth Noisewater.

I really think it's possible. For all the talk of our payroll inflexibility, Howard is the only hitter under contract past 2013.

This team is all about Halladay, Lee (and hopefully Hamels) the next few years. A difference-making hitter has to be added to the mix.

And it's hard for me to see Amaro (who came into his first three offseasons with a World Series trophy, Roy Halladay, and Cliff Lee) rolling into Clearwater with Wilsom Betemit.

Here's the deal, we convince Houston to trade for Wight and then have them trade him to us. Win, Win, Lose. (mets are the losers in this scenario)
