If I could get Reyes for 5 I'd do that over Jim for 3

4 v 6, probably gotta go w/the fidgety ex Met 'mo

4 vs 7 I'd be scared either way

You havent factored in the benefits of the Fugees response. Worth at least 1-2 years at 16 million per.
I know what you're asking yourself and the answer is yes. I have a nick name for my penis. Its called the Octagon, but I also nick named my testes - my left one is James Westfall and my right one is Doctor Kenneth Noisewater.

Yeah, but an older Rollins still raping the Reyes-less Mets would counterbalance this some.

That Tyson Gillies has an OBP of .542 in six games in the AFL. 5 hits and 7 walks.

I hope his legs are now fully attached. He might actually be a good player.

Here's something I found at Bill James online. I think it's from Dewan as he did the article. According to this thing, the Phils have two of the top three baserunners in MLB. Both better than Mr. WAR UZR himself.

Baserunning Gain is a measure of how often a player advances the extra base, or is thrown out trying to do so, as compared with what would have been expected based on league averages. The top ten baserunners by this metric over the last three years combined are shown below.

Baserunning Gain (3-Year)

Player

Chase Utley
+77
Elvis Andrus
+76
Shane Victorino
+64
Ben Zobrist
+57
Ian Kinsler
+51
Michael Bourn
+50
Ryan Braun
+50
Brett Gardner
+48
Drew Stubbs
+47
Juan Pierre
+45

as the biggest Reyes defender/advocate on this board, him yanking himself out of the game on the last day of the season has turned me against him. I can tolerate his antics and high energy stuff, but I just worry now about his determination. Maybe the Phillies could beat it out of him, but it would be a risk.

Drew Stubbs is such an interesting player. A speed guy; center fielder; low BA; some slugging; will take a walk but led the league in strikeouts.

He had a really bad year last season. He'll be 27 next year. He's my pick to click in 2012.

I don't think I want to further increase his chances of injury.

That doesn't seem to be the Phils' MO though does it? They don't really bring in "problem" players and re-shape them.

Pence; Oswalt; Ibanez; Doc; Cliff -- those guys are all the "leader"; "worker"; good clubhouse guy types.

Who really knows what Reyes is actually like? None of us that's for sure. But my guess is they won't go for him.

I think maybe the ballsy move of the offseason would be to bump Charlie up to some special assistant to GM type role and make Sandberg the Phils manager in 2012
Even if you get run over by a clown car and pissed on by a busload of school children, it's still your responsibility to interpret the meaning of the event and choose a response

can't wait for the season to be finished and the current banner to be dispensed with. 2011 is so last year.
