i cannot stand some of these questions they are asking manuel... something like "after the world series the team has taken steps backwards. do you think they have lost their desire?" first of all they have gotten better. second of all stfu.

also, all this talk abotu .300 hitters. there were 26 in all of baseball this year. one of them was hunter pence.

finally someone tried to explain that they are a very good team but in charlie's words "baseball is a funny game." he basically said look at who has won the world series and look at who was supposed to, the best team doesnt always win.

something like

"if we get 5 hits in a row and only score two runs that isnt good. right, howard? even you can understand that."

Could be, but I'm struggling to remember the last decent SP the Orioles developed since Mike Mussina.

i think he is under the notion that win in september is worth two in the standings.

That's what Charlie said.

But to be fair to the reporter, the question was about resting Polanco at times during the season so he could be fresh(er) at the end. Not punting games.

I think it's okay to criticize a bit. The whole "oh my god. we suck" thing after winning 102 games bothers me, just like everyone else here. But I also don't like the whole "we just had a bad week in a long season. Oh well. That's the nature of the sport." It's okay to be angry when you get eliminated in the LDS and get shut out in the deciding game.

Howard had a complete tear. Amaro estimates 5-6 months.
