Phillies thoughts of the random persuasion

Hints: #1 would be an unexpected pinch hitter (at least for most of his career). The other top ten guy was mostly a back up player as was the current Phillies player with the low WPA.

No. Reasonable guess. Pete Orr. He was batting with the bases loaded in the top of the 14th inning in the 2005 NLDS playing for the Braves who were tied with the Astros 6-6 and he grounded out to third. -.17 WPA.

No. They were already winning when he pinch hit.

#1 was a long time Phillies player who played in a lot of playoff games. His big hit was in his last year with the Phillies.

Didn't Pat the Bat have a big pinch hit right before he left? Don't remember if it was pinch hit, though.

I don't remember seeing him on the list. He started all of the playoff games as far as I remember (didn't finish many of them).

Another hint...

Del Unser

Oh wow; I know who it is now. Never would have guessed it.

Hint: Both the hits by the top guy and the other top ten guy helped prevent the Phillies from being eliminated from the series they were playing in.

Yes. That's that hard one. And anyone who has watched the Phillies play at home at CBP would know of the first guy.
