as far as worst contracts in baseball goes, how about a-rod?

per cots:
10M signing bonus ($2M paid upon approval, $1M paid each Jan. 15, 2009-2013, $3M paid Jan. 15, 2014)
12:$29M, 13:$28M, 14:$25M, 15:$21M, 16:$20M, 17:$20M
no-trade protection
$30M marketing agreement based on home run milestones ($6M each for reaching 660, 714, 755 and tying and breaking major league HR record)

he turned in a slash line of .276 .362 .461 this year and a .361 wOBA which was his lowest since 1995. His age 19 season. Also only hit 16 HR (also lowest total since '95 and played in 99 games, and is a confirmed PED user.

Howard may not age like Salma Hayek (who is 45) , but I'd rather have him and his contract than A-Rod who is aging like Penny Marshall

Just to follow up on my own post. The Yankees owe A-rod a minimum of $148 Million between now and 2017, A-Rods age 41 season.

The Phillies owe Howard 12:$20M, 13:$20M, 14:$25M, 15:$25M, 16:$25M 17:$10M buyout (and limited no trade protection and some award incentives).
The phillies owe Howard a minimum of $125 between now and 2016, Howard's age 36 season

For all the shit Howard gets from these dopes, he still hasn't had a season as awful as this 145M fella, this stinky terd, let's not forget how great Mauer's deal looks now, and FFS, how do you utter the phrase "worst contract in baseball" if you're not talking about this fuckin guy or even THIS fuckin guy?

The reason is because everyone knows that those players are not playing up to their contracts. Howard is different because a lot of people think Howard is valuable and some think he is worth the contract. In Cameron's mind, that makes his the worst contract. You can't be a contrarian if you assert something that everyone agrees on.

The contrarian bullshit from Cameron and his lackeys over there is very frustrating. There's a lot of good stuff on fangraphs, but sometimes it seems like they're just trying way too hard. Like him wanting to take Hudson out after two innings.

No one thinks Howard is worth that contract at least for value on the field. Some people think he's slightly overpaid and some people think he's very overpaid.
