From one of their beat guys

Kyle Lohse, who would have started the tiebreaker game Thursday against the Braves, will likely start Game 1 in Philadelphia with either Edwin Jackson or Jaime Garcia going in Game 2.

Even better, Lohse, Jackson, Garcia and the series will be over before Carpenter even throws a pitch. Really?

H/T to our squad, as per usual, for ruining the Barves season and eliminating their first playoff opponent. Guys played their balls off last night, the Cardinals have no idea what they're getting into Saturday.

I'd imagine Carpenter goes game 3, especially when they're down 0-2.

We should have Blanton on the roster, as a pinch hitter.

There is no way carpenter is not pitching gm 3. I might buy Lohse going gm 1.

there's no difference between pitching game 3 and 4 so he might as well go 4. Unless they were planning on using him in games 3 and 5.

Well, for one, there may not be a game 4.

For all the shit Howard gets from these dopes, he still hasn't had a season as awful as this 145M fella, this stinky terd, let's not forget how great Mauer's deal looks now, and FFS, how do you utter the phrase "worst contract in baseball" if you're not talking about this fuckin guy or even THIS fuckin guy?

Haven't they figured out yet that the Phillies can deal with bad contracts?

Time to break out the statistical awesomeness of our rotation.

Our starters led MLB in IP, ERA, FIP, xFIP, SIERA, k/9, BB/9, K:BB, runs allowed, CG, SHO, SO, WAR, LOB%, tERA and WHIP. We just missed our on HR/9 and HR:FB, which were won by the Giants in that pitcher's park.

Well to be fair we could have just slid Aubrey Huff in there for half the money. Woulda bridged the production gap through baserunning and defense!

Honest to goodness, I'm not sure what's the most amazing/incredible/ridiculous:

-- Roy Halladay is our Game 1 starter
-- CLIFF LEE is our Game 2 starter
-- Cole Hamels is our Game 3 starter
-- Roy Oswalt is our Game 4 starter
¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡GRAN EQUIPO, BITCHES!!!!!!!!!!!!

More awesomeness about our rotation. Only ten pitchers in all of MLB have an ERA under our rotation's total ERA of 2.86 (qualified only), and 3 of those are Phils.
