I don't recall that, but I'm not sure where I put my keys, either. Retrosheet has a year-by-year listing of transactions, if that might help you track it down.

Maybe you're thinking of the 2001 deadline where the Phils traded for Turk Wendell and Dennis Cook while facing the Mets at Shea?

Wasn't Fransen the guy who got popped for a PED suspension earlier this year. Anyway he's back and is white hot at LHV. There's our RHB. Well him and Kratz!.

Plus we got Grilli to be the other elite reliefer.

Problems solved.

What's up with Contreras? They mentioned something about him on the TBS broadcast today. I didn't hear the whole thing. Sounded like he was feeling better????

That was fortunate that the players wore the same uniform size

AAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

FLASHBACKSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

I remember that day well. Sunday afternoon. I was watching the game in my living room. On the old 35" tube TV that is now in my barn. It's one of those traumatic experiences where you always remember where you were and what you were doing. I'm not kidding here. Right after the game Harry got a strange tone in his voice. Something like "OH...how about this...the Phillies and Mets have just announced a transaction!". And proceeded to give the details. When I heard what it was I let out a long, audible scream. Still not kidding. The wife came running in to see what was wrong. Still not kidding. I knew Turk was toast because I used to do a little happy dance when Turk (the Met) came in to face the Phillies, since I knew that was great news for us. I wish my presience was proven unfounded, but unfortunately it was not, and we know how that ended for us.

it appears i definitely made this up in my head. maybe it was a rumored deal that never came to fruition.

RP, was it the Mets one I mentioned? The two Met relievers came over to our locker room and Bruce Chen went to theirs...

SI's recent Cy Young article had Doc at #1, Hummus at #2 and CLIFF LEE at #4. We're just amazing.

Orr is an OF? I thought he was up to be a backup 3B/2B. If Orr goes down they will only have one backup for 3B, SS, and 2B until Polanco comes back. Right?

Or if they had a RH bat and more elite reliefers.
