Does Dom Brown need to be on the 40 man roster before Sept 1st to be eligible for playoffs? Or does the fact that he'd been on the roster prior for a stretch of season mean he can already be on playoff roster? As well - if he has to be on the 40-man before Sept 1, will he be?

I think it would be foolish to not have him on a playoff roster for several reasons --

*he deserves to be part of that - he contributed more to this team than Gload or Francisco
*with DH he and Mayberry are nice assets
*if someone gets hurt or even a pitch-hit situation
*he might be really resentful if he missed a chance to be in the clubhouse during a WS run

I haven't followed his progress since he went back down, but I feel like the kid kind of rooked on the deal. I'd really rather him up right now and Francisco gone.
