Once again, one of my posts is totally out of step with the mood of this place. Back to worrying about Oswalt and the Phillies diminshed team. :(

Good work, Andrew.

I feel pretty #$&! good with Halladay, Lee, Hamels.

So do I, Oswalt hadn't been all that much more effective than Worley this year.

Let's hope Worley can keep it up.

And that a replacement for Kendrcik can be found, quickly.

It's not Cholly's m.o. to use off days to skip bad starters. We're looking at 40 percent Worley/Kendrick starts for the indefinite future. Unless...

Perrotto reports:

Phillies manager Charlie Manuel is pushing for a right-handed power hitter to balance his lineup, but GM Ruben Amaro Jr. doesn't seem inclined to trade for one

Looks like we'll be getting us a right-handed power hitter if my smugmeter is working right.
Teams lie, sometimes for good reasons, sometimes for bad. They do it to get an advantage while they look at the trade market or just because they can

Left-hander J.C. Romero, who was designated for assignment on June 16, was given his unconditional release on Friday. He was 6-6 with four saves and a 2.73 in his career with the Phillies.

whew! I thought he might accept a trip to LHV and potentially get back here.

So, given that they've just been converting Mathieson back to starting, does he go into the rotation?

Pedro Martinez isn't ready to announce his retirement just yet, according to Enrique Rojas of ESPNDeportes.com. Martinez also says that he envisions himself in a Sandy Koufax-type role with a club.
