I'm not commenting on the brillian analysis. Rather, I want to highlight the awesomeness of not being a mere playoff team, but being the playoff team the other playoff teams don't want to face. Also, the assumption Russo was making was that the Phillies would finish with the best record in the NL and thus be the first seed.
I realize the Phillies are going to be really tough in a 5 game series. Russo pointed out that the if the Phillies had the best NL record, they'd get to choose whether they'd get a day off between game 1 and game 2, and assuming they took the day off, that gave them even a greater advantage. It really is a change getting a ton of respect in the national media from a mere few years ago.

His old partner Francesa was absolutely gushing today about what a great WS matchup Yankees/Phillies would be. Loves the Phillies team. But who doesn't.

Also, this is not the site for BS superstitions. We have a thread counting down the magic number for christ's sake.

Once they made the Oswalt trade, I've been nothing but sunshine and candy, baby.

Only problem is you went from "Sell everyone, this team sucks", to "no way we don't win the World Series". I mean, Oswalt was a SAFECO deal, but to say he's that big of a difference maker is the definition of hyperbole.
The Phillies are awesome right now and I like our chances, but there is a chance we don't win the WS.
