In 98 starts as a catcher, Carlos Ruiz has had just 4 passed balls and 13 wild pitches with him behind the dish. Here are some other guys:

Soto: 2/25 in 95 starts

Olivo: 9/43 in 99

Yadir Molina: 7/27 in 125

McCann: 4/27 in 115

Pudge: 2/19 in 93

Posey: 0/17 in 59

J. Martin: 5/34 in 89

Chooch is like the best catcher in the NL, innit he?

Whether or not he's objectively the best may be difficult to say as it's hard to evaluate the real effect catcher's have on a pitching staff due to sample size disparity, but there's no one I'd rather have behind the plate for the Phillies (with the possible exception of Mauer if he agrees to play for Ruiz's money).

The other beauty about Chooch is he seemingly has no ego or at least has the ability to put the team before whatever ego he has.

He doesn't seem to mind hitting eighth even though it could be argued that he has been one of our best hitters this year. He'll sit down there in the eighth spot and get a big hit to get an RBI in a key situation or sit there and take pitches with nobody on base trying to walk and get the pitcher out of the way to turn over the lineup.

He may not speak good English, but he's as intelligent a baseball player as there is...he's not prone to werthless brainfarts if you know what I mean...

Player A: .287 .403 .477
Player B: .299 .401 .437

Player A is better offensively, but plays the OF. Player A is Jason Heyward. Would you like to have Jason Heyward catching? Cause we kinda do.
I know what you're asking yourself and the answer is yes. I have a nick name for my penis. Its called the Octagon, but I also nick named my testes - my left one is James Westfall and my right one is Doctor Kenneth Noisewater.

I'm deadly serious when i say that Chooch is going to go .280/.365/.430 this year wth 16 HR and a place on the All Star team.

I misunderestimated him.

If Howard's body had Chooch's head, he'd have 100 walks and 40 HRs right now, even with all his missed time

of course he'd be making 91 millionz of dollars per seasons :(
