Phillies “Dream Team” Painting Possibly Coming Soon To Fans (from May 2010)
One of the artist's replies...it’s pretty tough to finalize a list like this. you could include 100 players and still feel like someone has been left out. this is not an official top 25. it is a cross section of greats from the past 125 years of this amazing club. they are just symbolic of the talent that has walked through the Phillie’s clubhouse. can you imagine the stories they would be telling each other?! I loved doing this painting. there are a whole lot of hidden secrets in this image. Go to my website to see the full story. http://www.jcap.com.au
For example…There is an apology letter written to Alice in Richie Ashburn’s locker. And an alarm clock in Dutch’s locker with the date (from the mayan calendar) he believes we are all going to be beamed up. all in good fun.
"Ownership has done a great job of increasing revenues over the past few years," Werth said. "I got here in '07 and we won the division. I don't know exactly what the payroll was, but I know they've steadily increased it. That formula has turned out to be a winning formula. They've done a good job of bringing in the key parts, keeping guys here, locking up the guys that we have. It seems like it would be good business going forward to continue to keep that type of formula, a winning formula - strategically, keeping us together to continue to win and create a dynasty-type situation. I mean, we all know each other, we play good together, we feed off one another. We have unbelievable chemistry.
"This is an unbelievable place to come to work every day. To not be able to continue that would be a disappointment. But, at the same time, this is a business and for that to happen, I think we all know what will have to transpire."
In other words, the Phillies face two questions:
With the amount of money they already have spent to maintain a championship-caliber team, can they afford to re-sign Werth?

Gammons is out of touch, tbh
"Halladay is as good as anyone on the planet, and right now he's their third best starter," said one scout.

"I have never ever attempted to break up a double play with the intent to injure someone," he told MLB.com. "I understand what it's like to be taken out. I've been kicked, kneed, elbowed, spiked and even flipped upside down. And as much as I might not have liked it at the time, I understand that it's all part of being a Major League second baesman. Second basemen have had to deal with this for over 100 years. And with that said, we as a team play the game hard and play it to win. That is not going to change."

Some of the guys are in a really fun-looking conversational mode but some of them are posing for and looking at the viewer and some like Dysktra are just standing there in baseball card poses. Howard looks great but the guy he's talking to isn't listening to him so the pair just looks awkard. Green looks silly. Cole looks photoshopped in. On the other hand, Charlie and the Phanatic, Harry and Richie, Rollins and... Bowa?, Maddox look great. It's halfway there.

Congratulations to the Phillies for being the 1st US team to embrace this unique concept.
