Yeah, the "C" is not that great. I thought it was based on an old uniform, but they've never had one just like it.

Losing Wahoo? He appears on all four versions of the jersey, and on the main hat as well.

(rumor is they're switching the home one to a cursive "Nationals" similar to the road "Washington" one, and they're removing the gold)

Long overdue IMHO. As in, they should have done that with their first uniforms. The typeface they use right now is so generic "professional sports team" font.

Source?

So there are a fefw things here.

1. The change is to make the Unis red, white and blue to honor the nation. No other colors. Fan pressure for this.

2. They have an alternate blue hat that looks close enough to the Phils blue hat that there has been a stink about trying to attract some buyers. This assumes that most of you cannot tell a P from a W. Frankly, it is as close to the Cubs hat as the Phils. Our presence in Nats Town really has people hating the Phillies down here these days.

The Cubs dropped that hat, and the Phils's blue/red hat was darker than the Cubs blue hat.

The road blue hat the Nationals use now is a noticably darker blue than the one the Phils use - it matches the navy blue of the USA flag, if I remember correctly. Is the new Nationals blue hat going to use the same shade of blue that their current road hat is, or are they going lighter?

Compare:

Is there a picture of the new hat out there anywhere?

This has been talked about before, but how awful are the Angels at translating their minor league talent into major league results? If I was Mike Trout, I'd be praying for a trade all winter long.

Look at how many highly touted position prospects they've had that haven't come close to reaching their potential:
-Jeff Mathis
-Dallas McPherson (who really, should have a major league platoon job. I'm surprised he hasn't had more of a chance to make someone's team as a power bat off the bench)
-Howie Kendrick
-Brandon Wood
-Casey Kotchman
-Erick Aybar (he was a decent enough hitter in the minors, inept in the majors)

You know what, I really like Mike Trout, but I'm going to hold this against him until he's out of the Angels organization.

I actually like them going all the way on the American flag thing, rather than just wearing those crappy caps with the regular uniforms.

Are they trying to avoid another "Natinals" incident?

Agreed. I put it right up there with the Padres camo uniforms.

Like it. Even though they probably won't play like one yet, they'll look like a real team now, although the right one is still a bit silly, at least that one cap sorta matches it. I wanted them to make some version of that center one for a while. Did they say which is the standard uniform?

I'd be guessing Away, Home, Alternate from left to right...

If you've been to baseball-reference's home page recently, you've seen that they have 12 players' pictures on it which rotates every few minutes.

This guy was one of the 12 just now. Great name and great nickname

holy crap, the Padres are only expected to be on the books for 39.7 million after arbitration awards, pre-arb contracts, and league minimum players to complete the roster
