They said the trade was complex. Smuggy will probably end up pulling off a 6 way trade giving up Kendrick and Bastardo and somehow get Halladay and $6 million out of it. You have to have faith

I mean, that looks awesome on paper, but wouldn't the rumored prospects/$$$ be more valuable than having Blanton or Happ as your fifth starter?

Yes, that's too much IMO for the chance to pay Halladay, and also who are we bidding against right now?

Just money, no bullpen piece?

I'd probably be okay with that.

I suspect there would be a couple of other, lesser pieces involved, e.g., Bastardo to Jays and we get our bullpen piece. Actually, I like that deal for the Jays better than getting Happ anyway. I think Bastardo has at least Happ's upside.

If everything works out for Drabek, he'll be 3/4 of what Halladay is. If everything works out. Hes in AA. Hes our best pitching prospect, but we have others. He's not a once in a generation talent. He doesn't prevent you from having Halladay for the next 5 years. Repeat the same thing for Brown, but change it from pitching to outfield.

Man, the Eagles game last night was even bigger than I thought. Clearly, this aggressiveness by Amaro is just an attempt to steal back the headlines.

I haven't cried in years, but #Halladay to the #Phillies just might do it. Good bye #Mets hope for the next 3 years. Minimum.
