I think it's just the Dodgers and Phillies at this point. I don't see why other teams would have jumped in all of a sudden. They would have wanted a shot to start low too

Yeah, but they no longer have their favorite/best deal to drive up the price, which it why it's not a Phillies/Indians "ruse," as you suggested.

So... looking at Ben Francisco, who I must admit I knew nothing about before just now, he's an average outfield bat... lacks patience, but doesn't strike out a whole lot, has been a starter for Cleveland the last two years... is he prepared to take a bench role here? And do we need another outfielder?

Halladay/Scutaro is the better option in my opinion because Scutaro is an infielder, but, if the price is none of Taylor/Brown/Drabek, the price is right I guess.
