There's been little indication that the Jays would settle for Drabek/Carrasco/Marson/Donald (though who know, maybe they do indeed love Drabek enough to do so). I think most around here would be extremely cool with that as well. Ultimately, we don't know what trade would be better since we don't know what anybody will truly accept.

If I had a choice between Drabek, Taylor, Donald, and Marson for Halladay, or Knapp, Taylor, Donald, and Marson for Lee... I mean, that isn't a choice, is it? The answer is obvious.

Trade for both and hope Cleveland and Toronto don't realize they both were traded Taylor/Donald?

I know no one would agree, but I'd rather do Drabek/Happ/Brown for Halladay than Knapp/Taylor/Donald and Marson for Lee.

I'm just echoing something Stark wrote somewhere a day or two ago, but given the kind of sports town Philadelphia is, at this point Rube almost has to make a deal.

It wouldn't shock me if the Lee stuff wasn't leaked today as a kind of trial balloon. They put the rumor out there (with in my opinion a deal that really favors the Phillies) and see what fan/media reaction is.

Gordon Edes thinks it's almost done:

In return, the Indians would receive right-handed pitching prospects Carlos Carrasco(notes) and Jason Knapp and at least two players from a group that includes catcher Lou Marson(notes), shortstop Jason Donald(notes) and outfielder Michael Taylor, according to sources. Carrasco was scratched from his start for Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Wednesday.

But that's just making up packages out of thin out and comparing them. Sure, I'd take Halladay in those choices. But those deals are (1) more than has been reported as potentially going for Lee [which may be inaccurate] and (2) less than has been reported as what the Jays want.

Personally, I don't think that the Jays will bite unless we include two of Drabek, Brown or Happ.

I think I agree. Halladay is unquestionably, earth-shatteringly awesome. You get, as they say, what you pay for. I don't really understand the sticker shock around here for a guy like Halladay.

The deal has not been completed, but the Philadelphia Phillies appear on the verge of acquiring left-hander Cliff Lee(notes) from the Cleveland Indians, according to multiple sources Wednesday morning.

Um, please keep Taylor.

Taylor will be involved or Brown. The price for Lee will be painful.
