I now have source concurs with multiple rpts that Lee to #Phils "is very close." Knapp key going other way. #Indians

If true, then this is great. Either we get Lee in a very good deal or we use this to lower the price for Halladay and get him.

Don't think so. As soon as the Phils do a Hallday deal, the Indians lose their leverage with the Dodgers. I think the Phils are playing it straight up with Shapiro: We're going to give Halladay one more try, but we'll be back to you at X time with a firm yes or no and Shapiro has agreed to wait a few hours simply because he likes the Phils' deal better, not because he's in on some anti-Jays conspiracy.

Personally, I think Knapp is the key piece here, from the Indians' perspective. They need a high ceiling arm, and few high ceiling arms at AA or AAA are available in all of MLB.

What time are we thinking here? I think the Blue Jays will not want Halladay starting tonight, so I'm thinking no later than 4 o'clock. If they have an offer from the Red Sox and the Phillies have taken the deal for Lee by then, then Halladay is a Red Sox shortly thereafter.
