Lee's given up more than 3 ER in only 4 of his 22 starts (4 twice, 7 twice). Two of them were his first 2 starts of the year. He's 7-9; had he been here, he'd probably be 12-4, with this defense and this offense.

It's a damn good deal, keeping the big three prospects. I assume one of Taylor/Brown is out the door for bullpen help soon, or, and this is what amazes me, it seems theortically possible they could still get Halladay (not likely, but WOW), but still, the more I think about it, the more I like it. I was attached to Halladay because he's the sexy name/talent, but a younger Cliff Lee controlled through 2011 for none of our top prospects is nothing at all to sneeze at.

The crazy thing is: if JP caved right now and was willing to accept Happ/Taylor/D'Arnaud or something like it for Halladay, the Phils would probably do that too, right?
