Everyday player with a .930 OPS for a playoff-contending team will be hard to overlook.

Well, good thing he's not eligible.

And I think Happ can take it if his only competition is the only talented player Pittsburgh hasn't traded away.

Chris Coghlan and Gerardo Para will likely gets some votes too, but not enough to beat out Happ.

Brad Lidge has a 7.29 ERA and has blown 7 saves.

Brian Sanches has a 3-1 record and a 1.07 ERA.

Roy Oswalt gave up 9 hits and 6 runs in 5 IPt night.

Doug Fister, in his big league debut, gave up one hit and zero runs in 6 IP.

The Phillies had 3 hits in 12 innings last night. Jeff Baker had 4. The Phillies won anyway.

I love baseball.

It wasn't Fister's debut, he made a relief appearance prior to last night's start. I only know because I'm a box score junky.

LA, what can you tell me about Bud Norris? Is there any chance of a Marlins loss tonight?

Look at the steroid-using freakazoid Randy Ruiz going deep back-to-back games for Toronto.

Bud Norris is a really good young pitcher...so maybe a 5% chance that the Marlins lose.

My mood regarding the Phils really hinges on the most recent game. Right now, I'm feeling good about this team as again a team of destiny, but I'd like more hits. 24 hours ago, I felt in pretty desperate need of a win.

Domonic Brown is featured in an article where he explains that his name is Domonic not Dominic, but the first posting of the article spelled it Dominic through the entire article...Someone pointed it out in the comments and a revision with no time or date was posted sometime this afternoon. Classic!

The Phillies aren't in first place by enough to suit me. Stupid sweep by the Marlins. I hate that fuck-ing team.

Murphy had a good line about him being our highest paid pitcher this year, despite the presence of the World Series MVP and two former Cy Youngs in our rotation.
