I couldnt possibly have hated Scott Graham more. That's not true; I would hate him more if he was Thom Brenneman. Other that though, Graham was an insufferable douche with no redeeming qualities as a broadcaster. Frantzke is inifintely better.

Franzke and Graham are the same guy to me in terms of their broadcasting "sound". The big difference is the camaraderie that Franzke and LA have. It really is priceless. I know they don't want to be - but if the two of them were promoted to TV, they'd be Philly legends within ten years.

I would have to agree with you sir! I especially love listening to them when there is an afternoon game during the week and I'm at work. It's a shame that the two of them are not on the TV broadcast.

However, his call of Todd Pratt's home run against the Red Sox in Philadelphia remains the call of the decade for a homerun.

He also was credited in Philly Mag with threatening to knock Wheeler out if he kept criticizing Harry.

Those are two pretty great things to have on a resume in my book.

That was such a great call. I have a bottle opener with that call every time you open something.

I like Scott Graham, too, but also realize that there's about zero chance he comes back.

That call is spectacular. As was the Pratt HR call from 2003. And he and Andersen had a good thing going when they worked together.

Interesting tidbit:

Flyers play-by-play man Jim Jackson, who already hosts the radio pre- and postgame shows, will call an inning or two for Franzke.

Is he any good? Maybe they're gearing him up to replace McCarthy (prays).

the limited times i heard JJ on radio doing the phillies, he was quite bad.

I can't believe T-Mac threw "no doubles defense" into his HR call on Howard last night, when the ball was already 150 feet in the air and about to hit the train tracks

He's really dumb. And I'm so sick of the excuse that supposedly fans don't like TMac because "He's not Harry". I don't like him because he's an idiot and he's terrible.

I went through videos on mlb.com and listened to different announcers around the league. The Phillies announcers were constantly off topic, mumbling, and with no sense of direction. It's pathetic

I like him because he's pretty funny (albeit, most of the time unintentionally) and he seems like he's genuinely a fan and really gets into it and excited. I think he's the most fun. But I can understand why he may not be everyone's cup of tea. I often wonder how he managed to get the job with him tripping all over himself and whatnot, but I guess they saw an entertainment factor or something.

What I don't understand is the vitriol towards TMac. I don't think he's very good, but the hate is way over the top here.
