You mean like they lost fair and square the last two seasons, last year by 3 games, and yet the Mets and their fans still think they were the better team? I don't think they need "excuses" to have a false sense of superiority.
I'm talking about enjoying another division title for me personally. I wouldn't enjoy it as much if the Mets went from a 90-win team to a sub-.500 team because their starting pitcher has elbow problems. I want the Mets to be at full strength when they get smoked during the regular season.
the mets wouldn't drop 10 games from replacing santana with adam eaton, let alone an actual replacement level pitcher.

PORT ST. LUCIE -- Johan Santana most likely will not start Opening Day on April 6 in Cincinnati, pitching coach Dan Warthen revealed to us this afternoon. The more sensible target date for Santana's first regular-season start is now the following Saturday, April 11, in Miami against the Marlins.
Warthen didn't completely discount Santana starting Opening Day, but said that would be very aggressive in light of the delays in Santana's throwing schedule caused by the tendinitis in his left triceps last week.
In addition to the previously announced bullpen sessions set for tomorrow, March 7 and March 10, Warthen said Santana will throw batting practice March 13, a side session March 15 and make his first Grapefruit League start March 18 in Port St. Lucie against the Braves.

Is this an actual newspaper? How embarrassing. This should further explain why Philly fans have such a horrible reputation. It's because you've earned it! Who could take this crap seriously? And by the way, Tim, even most of your idiotic friends can "under stand" that understand is one word. Your English is almost as bad as your "math".
