pretty please

He also doesn't believe he will be ready for opening day.

you sure do seem to have a lot of time on your hands to be on this forum? Do you have a job? Are you a shut-in?

I'm really not happy about this; I try to be an objective baseball fan who appreciates greatness in all its forms.

I like the idea of Santana going 25-4 with a 2.00 ERA, while the Mets as a team go 50-112.

I'm not saying I'm happy about Santana's injury, but it does have an upside.

The worst of Mets fans think the same thing about Cole Hamels. This is bad for karma, people.

I feel the same way, it's more fun when we beat the Mets with Santana.

i wish no pain on the man and i used to really like him on minnesota, and i've never found him to say idiotic things out loud. but our odds of repeating are much higher if he's injured. we can't pick our favorite way to win and wish that he does great but everyone else dies. if santana needed tommy john surgery, our vegas odds of repeating would jump from 6% to 9%.

and there's no such thing as karma.

I want the Mets to lose fair and square; I don't want them to have a built-in excuse. It will be a sour victory if the Phillies win the division and Santana is sidelined for any significant amount of time and/or the injury hampers his ability.

If he gets Tommy John, he might come back next year even better.

You mean like they lost fair and square the last two seasons, last year by 3 games, and yet the Mets and their fans still think they were the better team? I don't think they need "excuses" to have a false sense of superiority.

I'm talking about enjoying another division title for me personally. I wouldn't enjoy it as much if the Mets went from a 90-win team to a sub-.500 team because their starting pitcher has elbow problems. I want the Mets to be at full strength when they get smoked during the regular season.

fair and square losing includes signing a pitcher to a multi-year deal and him getting injured at some point during it.

and even if santana does come back better after TJ, i'd prefer him miss a whole year and be a hair better for the next few.

the mets wouldn't drop 10 games from replacing santana with adam eaton, let alone an actual replacement level pitcher.
