Is this an actual newspaper? How embarrassing. This should further explain why Philly fans have such a horrible reputation. It's because you've earned it! Who could take this crap seriously? And by the way, Tim, even most of your idiotic friends can "under stand" that understand is one word. Your English is almost as bad as your "math".

Mets promotional schedule is out:

Sat., Apr. 18 Brewers Johan Santana Drawstring Bag

This BETTER have a "Choking Hazard" warning on it.

Apologies for the shameless self-promotion but it fits in with the thread. I was on Pro Baseball Central last night to discuss the Phillies-Mets rivalry. They laughed at me when I said that Cole Hamels was nearly as good as Johan Santana, and were skeptical when I said that Jimmy Rollins vs. Jose Reyes is about a wash.

If you click the play button the applet in the middle of the page, it should be the show I was on. It's a two-hour show, I come in at around the 28-minute mark and I'm on for the duration of the show.

The hosts, Steve Keane and Joe McDonald, both projected the Mets to finish well ahead of the Phillies. If I recall correctly, Steve put the Phillies at 81 wins and Joe put them at 80. Both had the Mets in the 90's.

I believe Joe also had the Braves and Nationals finishing higher than the Phils.

Well after that summation, why would I want to watch that much stupidity? Good for you though.

You should have noted that the hosts have the same unbiased approach to the game's news as ESPN, except that they appear to have apartments at CitiField & are as yet unaware of the Red Sox

Did anyone catch the Mets blurb on sportscenter last night? How does Linda Cohn continue to get away with her blatant homerism for the mets? i know it's an in joke they've used in promo ads and all but it is beyond unprofessional.

John Kruk basically blows kisses to the Phillies 5 nights a week or however often he is on Baseball Tonight.

I see your point, but Kruk played for the Phillies and is an analyst, not an anchor. It does bother me when any of the anchors talk about their "fav" teams like that. If it was on the radio, I wouldnt mind, but when you're anchoring SporsCenter its pretty unprofessional.

I remember during one episode of Dream Job when Al Jaffe labasted one of the contestants for mentioning that they rooted for a specific team, all while standing next to Stu Scott.

It's Sportscenter. How important is objectivity?

Precisely. "Sports journalism" is one of my favorite oxymorons.
