this one is true

so is probably the alien thing, depending on what we define as aliens

Not sure "intentionally misled" and "lied" are mutually inclusive here. He pretty clearly ignored intelligence that suggested Iraq did not have any, but he didn't really lie about the faulty intelligence suggesting they did have them. The exact question needs to be stated to assess this one.

Of course they don't. They believe god made the universe in 6 days only a few thousand of years ago. You know, they're morons.

oh, no. i'm sure it's being looked into, but i didn't exactly look it up beyond a hunch.

did just find this:
Wind, not water, deposited most of the sediments in the layered Martian mountain NASA's Curiosity rover was sent to study, suggests an analysis of observations from orbit. If the rover confirms this scenario when it reaches the mountain next year, it could spell trouble for its chances of finding organic material there.

Last August, Curiosity landed inside the 154-kilometre-wide Gale Crater. Its primary goal is to reach and analyse the 5-kilometre-high sedimentary mound, Aeolis Mons, informally called Mount Sharp, which rises from the crater centre. Some researchers suspect that much of the mound — which at its base contains clay and sulphate minerals that require water to form — was laid down as lake sediments. "If there were lake deposits on Mars, this would be one of the best places to look," says Dawn Sumner, a Curiosity mission member at the University of California, Davis, who advocated sending the rover to Gale in part because of the possibility that it once contained a lake.

But a study by Edwin Kite of the California Institute of Technology in Pasadena and his colleagues, published on 26 March, paints a much drier picture of the mountain's formation1. The researchers used high-resolution images taken from NASA's Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter to measure the orientation of rock layers exposed at a handful of locations around the mountain's base. Instead of the flat layers expected from lake deposits, they found layers that were tilted outwards by about 3 degrees. The team's calculations show that this is consistent with the layers being formed by dust blown into the crater by wind.If so, this would likely limit the number of ancient, life-friendly environments for Curiosity to study. "If you're looking for an environment that could support life, more water is good," says Sumner.

22% seems a bit high. Probably only 10-15% of Romney voters were anti-Christs.

You don't think they knew curveball was full of shit? I find it hard to believe they didn't know. At the very least, it was willful ignorance on a huge scale.

Great talk by a fomer Ok congressman debunking and illuminating a lot about OKC, much of it not known to most. Very credible. Some info is not written it's spoken. I listen to a lot of radio and radio documentaries.

My dad told my great-great aunt a few weeks ago when we visited my grandfather that we HAD to invade Iraq because of 9/11. I was drinking something at the time and did an actual spit-take. That part of it made me laugh so much that I never bothered to even confront him about it. I knew he believed a lot of nonsense (listens to talk radio, watches Fox, etc) but I thought he was smarter than to believe that shit. Although more recently, I did notice one of the loons on the radio that he likes rewriting history claiming something along the lines of "look, EVERYONE thought we needed to invade Iraq back then"
"My hip is fucked up. I'm going to Africa for two weeks."

Except everyone didn't.

There were a LOT of military officers in DC who did not support the invasion. Fell on deaf ears. There is going to be one hell of an expose about this time period once Rumsfeld and the rest of the neo-cons die off.

There seems to be an unwritten rule about writing histories when a lot of the major actors are still alive and involved in the political game.

Keep your eye on for a book from a guy named COL Kevin Benson. He was the Chief of Plans for 3rd Army/ARCENT and was the designer of the initial ground invasions. He was one of my senior advisors when I was attending the School for Advanced Military Studies. He just passed his PhD dissertation and was going to write a book once that had been accomplished.

Just to give you a little taste - I asked him about the lack of planning for stability operations once the Iraqi military had collapsed and the regime was removed. He said that everytime it was brought up to Wolfawitz and Rumsfeld, they both would go insane and tell him that there was no need for a plan because we wouldn't be there that long.

more likely they wanted instability so they could do their resources grab for their energy buddies.
