this is pretty much true, though. everyone drives mostly selfishly. once every few days, i see an example of good unselfish driving and it lifts my spirits. life's about little victories after all.

i'm convinced the IQ of the average person drops by 30 points whenever they enter a grocery store. 80% of people at the checkout wait until the checkout person is completely done ringing everything up before they even pull out their wallet/dig through their purse.

people who stand there and argue with the person ringing them up about something not being rung up at the right price are awful human beings, too. you want to argue about that extra $2, go over to customer service because that's where they're going to send you anyways.

I can't fucking stand so many things that people do in parking lots. Here is a sample of things that drive me nuts:

People who stop in not spots in parking lots to do things, why are you stopping in a travel lane in a parking lot to check your email or move things around in your car when there are a plethora of empty parking spots designed for just that purpose.

People who stop in front of the store to let people out. With a special shout out to the mother fuckers who let em out and then sit there while they are in the store. PARK IN A SPOT YOU HEATHEN.

People who drive the wrong way in one way parking lots. Diaf

In bad weather when cars don't yield to the pedestrians in the lot.

People who back into spots.

When I'm getting my kid in or out of her car seat and someone pulls into the spot next to me. It takes about 30 seconds to get her in/out of the seat and I'll check before I open the door to see if anyone is hovering around the spot and I'll wait for them to pull in before I open the door. So if someone pulls in there while My head is in the car, I get irritated because I feel like they are going to kill me.

People who drive around for a "good" parking spot. Most of the time, it'd be quicker to park farther and walk. Plus, chances are, as an American, you could use the extra steps.

i mean, a lot of these have exemptions. old people, handicapped, etc...

i have no problem with an 80 year old lady being dropped off at the entrance or going for a close parking spot. if you're an able bodied person and you do it, you suck.

i'm not talking about coasting, i'm talking about breaking down to 5-10 mph well before.

My favorite driving around campus are the kids who straight up cross the street without looking up from their phones.

Yes, you're in a crosswalk, but those lines aren't fucking bulletproof glass. At least glance to see if you're about to be run down by an automobile.

Oh yeah, this sucks. Also, people who, when changing into a turning lane, don't move over all the way.

i gotta ask about speed limit. i think about it all the time. i feel like the limit is the expected speed to drive, even though it's defined as the top-out speed, right? anyway, I get annoyed when people drive below the speed limit and ruin the flow of traffic. like that episode of fresh prince when will smiff got pulled over for driving too slow (being black).

also, #1 petpeeve currently and always will be peoples use of turn signals before a turn. some will brake for a hundred feet and slap it on a second before the turn, or others that cruise that hundred feet while decelerating and then activate the signal when they've reached their turn. at that points, it's just obligation to the law so you can say you technically did it. annoying, lazy, and disrespectful since i've planned my driving behind you based on the fact that you were not turning because you didnt tell me. this is nothing new and something everyone hates/complains about, but it is ri-goddamn-diculous. every. day.

I try to stay about 10 over the limit unless flow of traffic is faster then I'll flow.
