I may have posted this before, but PSA:

"Tact" != "Tack"

https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/tact

tact noun
Definition of tact
1: a keen sense of what to do or say in order to maintain good relations with others or avoid offense
2: sensitive mental or aesthetic perception
converted the novel into a play with remarkable skill and tact

https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/tack

tack noun (1)
Definition of tack (Entry 2 of 4)
e: a course or method of action
especially : one sharply divergent from that previously followed

Honestly, given the "especially" clause in the definition, "tack" may not be the word you're looking for either. Perhaps use "approach" instead.

when the word "versus" is used when it's not immediately between two team (or other entity) names.

For instance, "the flyers versus the canadiens" is fine. NOT

"The flyers will try to go up two game to none versus the canadiens tonight"

That doesn't really bug me. To me it just has it's original Latin meaning of against, and so if against would work there (which I think it does) it's okay by me. But one man's pet peeve is another man's floor, as they day.

How come I rarely see poetry slams referred to as Verses versus verses?

My kids started using "verse" as a verb when they were playing field hockey, as in, "we're versing the North Penn black team next".

this man has both my heart and vote.

Man makes passionate plea to rename boneless chicken wings at city council meeting

Christensen argued that boneless chicken wings “are just chicken tenders, which are already boneless.”

"We can call them 'buffalo-style chicken tenders,'" he said. "We can call them 'wet tenders.' We can call them 'saucy nugs' or 'trash.'"

I hate when people make their voice go up at the end of every sentence like they’re asking a question even though they’re not?

This is kind of specific, but I feel like every female pro wrestler does this in their promos, and it drives me nuts.

cars that turn on the reverse lights when the doors are unlocked with the remote

walking, driving through a parking lot- don't know how many times i've had to stop because i thought a car was about to back out. sit there and wait and nothing happens and then someone comes strolling up to the car.

Is there a way people can post twitter stuff actually on the board? Because whenever I click on a twitter link on this board, I get some kind of "you can't access this" type message. I am not going to open a twitter account.

People can quote tweet the words and put a link. I used to do that mostly, but I've grown lazy.
