Drivers who, trying to make a left turn onto a busy road, pull halfway out into the road, blocking traffic coming from the left until there's room to complete the turn. NO, THE RIGHT OF WAY IS NOT YOURS JUST BECAUSE YOU WANT IT

Corrollary pet peeve: drivers who stop to let somebody make a left turn across them, without considering traffic behind them or oncoming traffic.

Come to think of it, drivers who volunteer the right of way when they clearly have it. I don't mean something like arriving at a 4-way stop simultaneously where theoretically the car to the right has the right of way, I mean if somebody stops at a 2-way stop when there is no stop sign in their direction, and wave you on. It just causes confusion and slows you both down.

Last night on the way home from work, the car in front of me was trying to make a left turn but the on-coming traffic was such that there was no space for him to go. We sat through 4 cycles of the light until I and the car behind me started laying on the horn a little. At the next cycle, he gave up and went straight. I moved into the middle of the intersection (although not far enough to block traffic) and made the left just as the light turned red (the car behind me made it too). At the next light, we exchanged knowing looks.

while we're at it, people who slow to a crawl several thousand feet before a stop sign or red light.

also, when there's a 2 way road, but a middle lane for turning. when people slow down to a crawl before getting out of the driving lanes and into the turning lanes. there are valid times to do this. however, when there is not a lot of traffic, it's really annoying to have to slow all the way down just because that person can't change lanes at a normal speed.

people who do either of these things probably shouldn't be driving because they obviously can't safely.

i think it was bucky? that i learned this through. As long as you establish yourself in the middle of the intersection before the yellow light you are legally allowed to make a turn when the light is red. its actually preferred!

i generally pretty much hate all drivers because they only think about themselves. besides me, i'm a model citizen
