After a longish break, Simmons back with NFL Network's Mike Lombardi and Buzz Bissinger. He also mentions one with TV critic Alan Sepinwall. For the most part pretty good, some decent conversation on blue chip v. red chip players and the expected derision of Andy based on his gameday stuff.

The podcast with Buzz Bissinger is tame by Buzz' standards, mostly positive stuff except when he slams moneyball and trumpets Walt Jockety and LaRussa. Simmons was amazed that Jim Thome is tenth all time in home runs right now and asked what it means (considering the steroid era and all). I don't see it as being extraordinary that Thome is that high on the list.

Loved the Klosterman BS Report podcast. He should have his own podcast or at least call Simmons much more often.

Car Talk from NPR is pretty much the worst show ever created, ever. It's so fake and obvious that the laughs are put in after.

started listening to The Daily Bugle a little while ago. It takes a bit to get used to, but it's hilarious. John Oliver from the Daily Show and his comedian friend Andy Zaltzman from England host it, making fun of international politics

I love it when Cousin Sal cues up his Bill Simmons impression. "Josh Freeman. He's the man. Lombardi Trophy. Here we come."

I enjoy these podcasts for movies.

-Film Junk (4 guys in Ontario talk movies and joke around. Organized in regular segments: news, new movie reviews, trailers, other stuff we watched, listener mail, new on DVD.) filmjunk.com

-Row Three (I usually skip past the reviews of the week and just listen to them talk about other things they watched, the reviews are too long and spoilery, but I love the rest.) rowthree.com

-The Movie Club Podcast (Includes hosts from Film Junk and Row Three and others. Every 3 months or so they discuss 2 movies with a common theme.) movieclubpodcast.blogspot.com

-The Documentary Blog Podcast (one of the hosts is Jay from Film Junk. Guests are documentary film directors) thedocumentaryblog.com

People sometimes ask me where I heard of all the cool, weird, or interesting films I mention to them. Mainly it is because of these podcasts. Check them out--especially Film Junk, if you love movies.

Fascinating podcast of comedian Marc Maron interviewing Judd Apatow for almost two hours. Among the highlights are clips of a 16-year-old Apatow interviewing people like Seinfeld and Leno.

I loved Jacko's theory that we're raising the payroll just this one year to win the World Series and then sell everyone off.
