Slate's "Hang Up and Listen" is a good sports podcast. It's the anti-sports radio--smart, thoughtful, even nerdy. As proof, the intro music may or may not be The Sea and Cake.

i love Comedy & Everything Else until they get sidetracked on politics. then it turns into Air America and becomes angry, completely predictable, and not funny at all. couple of them have done this now. the Brian Regan one doesn't and is really enjoyable.

Bill Burr. How did I miss this guy so long? His podcasts are just fantastic. It's just him talking for like an hour, no guests. Doesn't sound like it would be great, but it really is.

I didn't even see the USFL 30 for 30 doc yet, but the podcast with Bill Simmons and the director (Mike Tollin) was great. Some Philly/Phillies talk, great USFL insight, and interesting insight/gossip about some actors and films Tollin was involved in.

Loved today's B.S. report -- Mad Men, The Ruins, and Survivor talk.

I just listened to the first 15 minutes with Mr Tony and Mad Men talk. I don't ever listen to the ones about MTV programming

Thanks for the Bill Burr tip. It's really fantastic. His bit about Halloween candy a few weeks back was amazing.

"The Tobolowsky Files". Accomplished character actor Stephen Tobolowsky tells stories about his life. He's actually one of the better storytellers I've ever heard, and funny too.

nerdist podcast, hosted by chris hardwick. he's had carolla, john hamm, and drew carey as guests. good stuff

comedy death-ray radio podcast is classic. i literally laugh out loud listening to it at least two or three times an episode. some of them are complete inside jokes and i find myself just unable to control my smiling while at work or walking or whatever. if you like comedy, check it out. for some reason it takes 15 minutes to download every single one, though

It does that for me too, but if you keep pausing and restarting the download it goes much faster. I love that podcast as well, especially some of the guests that are really comedians doing character impressions like Huell Howser and Ice-T.

If anyone listens to Bill Simmons' podcast and also has not seen the Wire, don't listen to the last 10 minutes of his podcast with Chuck Klosterman. He gives away a big spoiler.

The podcast started with Simmons warning that at the 25 minute mark, they start talking about Lost, so stop listening if you haven't watched Lost. I watch Lost so I kept listening. With about 5 minutes left they start talking about the Wire and Simmons gives away a huge spoiler. Klosterman gives away a different spoiler seconds later but Simmons stopped the podcast to tell his producer to bleep it. So a Lost spoiler warning at the beginning and bleeping a Wire spoiler at the end but then completely missing a big one.

Really disappointing.

Sorry to hear that man. If it's any consolation, there are a bunch of jaw droppers across the last three seasons of The Wire.

I'm like half way through Season 4, and hadn't seen it yet, to give you an idea of what the spoiler was. I just can't believe Simmons was that "spoiler-aware" but still let one slip.

Ugh. I heard that podcast but it didn't register with me because I've seen them all. Too bad you can't Eternal Sunshine it out.

For the fifth and final time I started the "Jay and Jack" LOST podcast before turning it off after about five minutes. Just terrible.
