I don't know how comfortable I am with the concept of podcast spoilers.

it is just speculation based off the 2 episodes we have heard so far. not really spoilers.

tv shows last longer than that and you still watch them.

I don't really watch TV shows and the only one I do that can fall into spoiler territory is Doctor Who. I don't care about spoilers there, but I know some do. I don't want spoiler culture invading another medium, especially one that most people don't have a strict schedule for enjoying.

I could see it seeming weird for podcasts, but this is essentially a murder mystery unfolding over 12 eps. I would rather those key plot points be tagged just in case, same as in the TV thread, so that people who aren't caught up up on that one podcast/show don't have to avoid the whole thread

Thank you for explaining why spoiler tags exist.

Just saying why I think they apply to this pod and why they have value in general since you cited "spoiler culture"

Spoiler culture as in any and all information is considered a spoiler anymore. If you're not explicitly discussing ending or central plot twist that's been presented in a work in its final form I don't think it should be considered. For longer, episodic content I don't think it really matters anyway until the series is over as anything that's been presented is still possible to be retconned with a brief flashback sequence in season 3. I'm probably just being contrary and tragically hip but I'm done with it all.

Here's my problem with Adnan's claims: if your serious girlfriend slash friend disappears on a Wednesday, aren't you gonna lock down the details of where you were that day pretty quickly? Like, immediately? Especially if you're innocent? So I don't buy the premise that he just couldn't remember because it was "like any other day," as he told friends and family leading up to the trial and is saying now. And on a more gut level, he sounds borderline smarmy in the interviews

As for the 2:36 time of death -- did that come from the autopsy, or just cell phone records (ie, the last call made or taken) and Jay?

I get that. But they obviously had a deep connection, to the point that I would think the day of her disappearence would go beyond "just another day." I guess we don't know for sure when he found out that she disappeared (if he's innocent) and how big of a deal it was in the school and locally, but they apparently talked all the time. We know they talked and probably rode in her car together that day

edit: just read this online, don't think it was on the pod

[Reveal] Spoiler:
Apparently the cops informed and asked Adnan of her disappearence that night, which makes sense. Her family was scared when she didn't pick up her niece, and he's one of the first people they would mention, even just for info

Also, it's a pretty huge coincidence that Hae dies the day after writing she's in love with the new guy in her diary. Maybe we'll hear more about him.

It's like an episode of This American Life that continues each week. I'm not sure if they did all the reporting and then broke the story out into 12 pieces or were more creating them on the fly, though

think why it is much easier to believe adnan did it too is bc we have no other possible suspects at this point.

maybe jay? that could be his motivation for trying to pin this on adnan.

i'd be interested in how deep her body was really buried. if it is indeed 6" then its either Jay or Adnan as the only suspects.
