I really want to like the "Stuff You Missed in History Class" podcast, but the hosts really don't do it for me. Finally gave up and cancelled the subscription today. Really wish RadioLab was more frequent.

Agreed. I still get feed updates but have it set to manually download. I only download really good topics, but even then I generally lose interest. Very frustrating.

I hear it does, but I had the same reaction. Listened to the first ep and just didn't care to do the next one. I like dramatic fiction podcasts, but I just couldn't deal with the format. Plus the music was just painful.

I've made it through about 20ish episodes. I think it does get better but the "weather" (i.e. the random music) doesn't get much better, it's really hit or miss. I like the podcast because it's strange, and I've never really delved into the dramatic fiction genre.

I just caught up, I liked it. It has the right kind of quirk for me to really enjoy.

listened to a few eps of the ryan nanni/jon bois "punt brothers" podcast. occasionally pretty good but a little disappointing, given their written stuff

i liked the NBA free agency one where nanni had a knicks, mavs and bulls blogger on and only asked them questions about their team's FA pursuit of birdman

Listened to the We're Alive series finale this morning. Easily my favorite dramatic podcast. I came in way late (during the hiatus between seasons three and four), but I plowed through the first 40 or so chapters in like a month, and they typically come in three parts. So yeah, that's a lot of podcasts.

For those that have never checked it out, go do it. You won't regret it.

Just listened to an ep of Nerdist... live at SD Comic Con with Evangeline Lilly and Michael Rooker. So not only is Evangeline Lilly one of the hottest women alive, she's absolutely hilarious. Tons of Canadian beaver jokes.

Oh yeah, Rooker was definitely hilarious too. And Hardwick barely had time to talk about himself, his stand-up, or his recovering alcoholism (all of which he's been exceedingly bad about lately).

Had to stop listening to the Bert Kreischer one because it sounded like a passive aggressive intervention.

Me too, and I think Kreischer is hilarious. His Russian mafia story is one of my favorite anecdotes ever. But Hardwick was so blatantly disgusted by his drinking stories... so much for his "I don't judge" schtick.
