Don't know if it falls here, but the Opie and Jim Norton Show has been infinitely better than the recent Opie and Anthony shows prior to Anthony's firing. I mentioned it before but I hadn't listened to the show in like 10 years, but got a new car in June with XM, and listened to their show. It was angry, annoying, unfunny and whiny. I barely could listen for a few minutes. Since Ant got canned, I've found myself really entertained by several episodes. They had Pete Rose on a few weeks ago and it was amazing, they had a fascinating segment with Nikki Glaser recently, among other really good shows. I'm kinda shocked, because I thought that Anthony drove the show like 10 years ago, but he really, really sucked before he got fired.

Jeff Ross on Gilbert Gottfried's podcast

It lags toward the end but it's good until then.

Listening to the Nature Box commercial before This American Life makes me want to shove an ice pick through my eardrums. That's one of the most annoying voices I've ever heard. "Peanut butter nom-noms"........aaaargh.

"Serial" is a "This American Life" spinoff that will examine a single story (a guy in prison for allegedly killing his girlfriend when they were in high school) every week. Good format and well done but the story isn't compelling thus far imo

i dont know if he did it. i dont think i have an opinion yet other than it seems like there is not near enough evidence to convict him. just some dudes testimony. seems absurd he could go away for that.

That was what I found lacking, info on why Jay may have been lying. But I assume they'll get to that at some point

the did he ask for a ride or have his own car thing is interesting.

the timeline is still pretty confusing. 20 minutes doesnt seem like a very long time to strangle someone to death. do we even know where the alleged strangulation occurred? the act of leaving school takes a few minutes, driving to wherever he was going to murder her, and then showing his buddy jay the body and getting back in time for track? just seems like a lot of stuff going on in a short amount of time.

[Reveal] Spoiler:
i think he did it, at this point in the story. I'd like to hear more from Don or other possible suspects. Feel like they coulda made the case that he was a player and no girl every turned him down. one finally did and he snapped. Find that more plausible than his religion thing. That and the burner phone and the asking for rides thing. meshes up well with jay's story.

[Reveal] Spoiler:
what is the timeline though? even jay said he went back to track. did they bury the body between school and track?
2:15 he leaves school gets a ride
2:20 they actually pull out of the campus
2:20-2:35 drive somewhere and kills her and puts her in the trunk
??

he then still has to go to best buy and show jay the body right and hide the car somewhere? then jay drops him off at the school for track practice a little after 3? that seems implausible to me for someone who is committing their first murder.

also, the girl in the library seems believable bc what does she have to gain by saying she remembers seeing him?

interesting little point from adnan

Between this and his demeanor, he just seems way too chill about the whole thing imo. But I know people handle things differently, especially after 15 years
