Can't stand the wifi on the Sony Tablet. Any drawbacks to the samsung tab? I guess when I ebay my sony tablet, I guess I should disclose that these things are notorious for bad wifi though.

Nope! Would only give a refund. The 'very good' warehouse ones are now up to 1430 from the 1190 I paid. Sick of this.JUburton wrote:Yeah, that's the plan...get one for the same price delivered soon and see if I can manage a discount for my 'troubles'.jamiethekiller wrote:JUburton wrote:Hmm, that makes sense. I think they're mostly repackaged so maybe they're not packaged well enough in the secondary packaging.Slowhand wrote:I handled those TVs for a few years when I worked at Best Buy, and I can tell you it doesn't take much to crack a plasma screen. All it has to do is tip over and fall, and you'd never know it by looking at the box. Also, simply laying it down can crack the screen (happens more than you'd think)
Send it back and get another. I'm sure they'll bend over backwards to accommodate you since it was an amazon warehouse deal and not a third party dealer.

When I came back this fall, they bought me a bamboo tablet to help me do some things I wanted to do. Now they decided to get ipads for my whole class, one per student, and I'm supposed to design a study to compare their effectiveness to the samsung smartboards that a few other teachers are getting. The ipads come with an apple tv, an improved board interface, and a separate wi-fi from the rest of the school. I'm also trying to talk them into getting a booster for the wi-fi so I can take the ipads into the woods for our ecology studies.
So psyched.

Depending on how far the woods are, you might be better off with a mobile hot spot. Only 5 devices can connect at a time though.
