My brother told me he was voting for Biden today. He said he doesn't agree with me about most of the Trump stuff, but the response to the virus has been so bad that he can't vote for him. He also said Trump acted like a child in the first debate.

Perhaps more importantly, he said he thinks many Trump supporters are going to vote for Biden and are afraid to say it out loud. I have no idea if he's right, but it's interesting that Trump supporters claim that many of them are silent, but maybe the opposite will be true this time. My brother interacts with a lot of people due to his business, so I'm hoping he has his finger on the pulse.

I certainly don’t think there are any silent trump supporters. There may be lots of silent Biden supporters out in trump country though.

I'm in rural VA. Have seen a surprising amount of Biden signs. Lots of Webb signs too who is running for Congress against. I think his race is a tossup but gonna say he wins. Signs don't vote obviously but he has a lot in places I wouldn't guess.

Don’t underrate the closest trump voters. I think this is gonna be way closer than anybody is going to want it to be and that opens up the voter fraud nonsense

I’ve got to thinK the super spreader rallies trump insists on holding are going to turn a lot of voters off, especially as cases and hospitalizations surge.

Does "many many" equate to more than a fraction of 1% of the US? Assuming the obvious answer is no, our posts remain in harmony.

Wtf?

Never mind. I need to remind myself that cruelty is the point of the death cult that is masquerading as a political party.

I'm trying to figure out which part of it is more absurd: thinking only 1% of people are struggling or thinking 1% (which is roughly 3+ million people in this country) is a big "meh."

Kinda reminds me years ago, there was a commercial during the Phillies game about some charity Halladay had that provides food for needy families. My dad literally got ANGRY at the commercial saying it was bullshit and there's not really anyone that needs that kind of help. Whatever false reality conservatives have to create to sleep better at night, I guess.

I hear this and I get this and I at times think this - but I just don’t foresee there being more people leaning in to Trump now knowing what we know when there’s likable candidates on the other side.

The optimist in me is that there are far more people that voted against Hilary who will now vote against Trump 4yrs later than people who are closet Trump people thru and thru.

If the election was three weeks from now, I would agree with you..but I don't think nine days away will make a difference...

If the super spreader rallies were turning people off, they were voting for Biden already

I'm surrounded by Trump lawn signs and flags everywhere. There's no way I'm putting Biden/Harris signs anywhere. The guy a block over has a "Trump 2020 Fuck Your Feelings" not only in front of his house but also mounted one to his old, rusted out Suburban.

Even more fucked is that Amy Kennedy lives not far from me and her signs get stolen from her house like clockwork.

There's one trump sign in my town and a week ago someone put a biden sign like a foot in front of it lol
Two days later I get a text back that says I'm a basketball player and a businessman, not a Thundercat.

538 model is slowly but perceptibly moving in the wrong direction in GA, NC, FL, AZ, and PA.

Trump gonna win.

I’m down in your neck of the woods this weekend and it is ridiculous, passed by a property covered in Trump signs and flags and had this one on a plywood panel by the road

Quoting myself but I just have that “too much time left on the clock” feeling you get with football games. Joe Biden either needs to score another touchdown this week or Donald Trump needs to fumble the football. The lead isn’t large enough to spend an uneventful week letting the Trump people get riled up and the incumbent advantage to close the polling gap.

Joe Biden has consistently been 8+ points up in the national poll and had 5+ point leads in the states he needs (Hillary + PA, WI, and MI). I don't know why you're so pessimistic. He may lose, but he's the clear favorite. This is not 2016.
