I think he still seems insane. "i may be immune, who knows". Someone said he's going to die in the White House. I'm just saying he's had it for 6 days and seemed a little off early on

Wouldn't Biden's chances be better if he doesn't recover?

I want him to recover because I want him to lose and go to prison. He should be humiliated and it would be good for America to have a full airing of what happened so we can make sure it doesn't happen again. But I'd rather he die than win the election, to be honest, so I'm torn. I feel like Trump's corona response incompetence would kill more people than Biden, so I'm forced to root for him to die over win the election.

FWIW, Trump hasn’t texted anything since he left Walter Reed. Seems like the steroids more off.

FWIW there are a good number of anecdotal stories from healthcare workers on Twitter going around in the last two days about how it's common for some of the more severe COVID cases to seem to improve before going downhill drastically, especially when supplemental oxygen is involved.

Will be crazy if he dies. His supporters will say liberals killed him, but the truth will be that THEY killed him by believing his lies. So I guess he kinda killed himself.

Because he doesn't become a martyr to the disease, because we avoid the ugliness of some of our friends on the left openly celebrating his death while those on the right mourn and therefore become - understandably - enraged, because it cannot be construed as a good thing when the sitting President dies in office, particularly weeks before an election, which would give Pence an opportunity to claim the result is somehow illegitimate in keeping with his boss's final wishes, because frankly the left has now for years made what amounts to a moral argument for itself and the inevitable and open celebrations of a man's death will do much to undermine that assertion, etc.

In Church when I was growing up, we used to sing an old song: "We'll Show We Our Christians By Our Love." Granted, the political left is a secular movement. But if the left wants to claim the mantle of compassion, of humanism, of dignity - all of which the right has indeed abandoned - the left needs to start at home and lead by example, not by cheering on a man's death, however personally objectionable he may be.

Someone in one of the threads posted a quote from the final segment of the second season Simpsons episode "Brush With Greatness" - the "He's bad, but he'll die" joke. But that joke in isolation almost totally turns around the meaning of that episode, which is one of their most poignant, and its message certainly applies here. It would be advisable for more people to take its theme to heart.

Trump will Trump. We need to beat him at the ballot box and show his ideas to be irrelevant and worthy of profound rejection.

I don't think it helps that WHO said it thinks 10% of the population already had it. Not sure if it brings it down to flu levels of death per case but it makes it a lot closer.

Twice as many people have died from COVID, and that is with most of the country locking down/taking all sorts of precautions, which doesn’t happen with the flu. Hard to say what the numbers would be if there were zero precautions like the flu.

the WHO numbers lack context. very well could be 700+ million infected(most likley true or higher). A large chunk of those are in countries with populations that have very low ages(think africa). So just looking at a million deaths vs 700m infections isn't fair(.1%) or accurate for the western world.
