yes. my expectation was a figure of 24,000 flu deaths for 2019-2020, and the US is cruising past 215,000 COVID deaths today, so I thought that might be a useful argument with my neighbor who doubts COVID (even though hiss two children in college both were infected.... but lived, as he points out) as 240,000 COVID deaths are not out of reach by November 3.

In looking at this, I was initially surprised at the lag of stats from the CDC, but I was also surprised that the previous season was almost 50% more then my expectation. That 10x exponential rise can be presented with a sloppy graph that is really easy to graph (like with your hands when talking).

it'll end up being at leasst 3-4x than the last large flu(2018) according to from/with covid vs flu diagnosed. its not a 1:1 comparison to prior years because america has had increasing deaths for the past 12 years(since 2008). Some due to drug overdoses, but mostly due to the boomer population being the largest generation of people in the country getting to the age where illness will kill more people.

this is an incredible look at US's mortality for the past 100+ years.

No it's not. The virus doesn't care if your republican state or a democrat state. Also, all the states in the north east are democrat and had their cases fall off a map in June. Also testing tamped up SIGNIFICANTLY since June. It's actually a really awful graphic.

she apparently had no contact with either person, but yeh, it could spread to Harris through a 3rd party. Neither Harris nor Biden have ever said that the virus could not spread to their campaign, so there is no gotcha with a few positive cases spread to their campaign. Note how they didn't handle it like bumbling morons.

Also, there's at least a 50% chance Trump will suggest to his staff at some point that they should give the virus to the Biden campaign, so I almost expect it to happen.
