Twice as many people have died from COVID, and that is with most of the country locking down/taking all sorts of precautions, which doesn’t happen with the flu. Hard to say what the numbers would be if there were zero precautions like the flu.

Exactly. Would we have 1 million dead? Maybe.

so the easy math says that 100,000 is 50% of 200,000 that was pasted already. Then there is the fact that you need to add years together to get to 100,000 unless he is pointing to 'The Spanish Flu'. 2017-2018 was a bad year with the CDC pegging it at 80,000, the worst in 40 years (why do all these things happen under Trump?).

Do note that he does not say to get a flu shot.

Of course I hate to say this after homolyzing earlier in the thread, but gee now I am pretty petrified that a recovered Trump can do this easy rhetorical turn and turn the election around:

"Listen, I've had COVID, I know about it. It's difficult, yes; if you have some health problems already, you need to be extra careful; but it's nothing we Americans can't handle. We can't run and hide from it forever. That's not what the American people are about, and that's not what I'm about. Look at Sleepy Joe over there - if you vote for him he'll keep things closed, have everyone running scared, afraid to come out, because he's scared.

We need courage now, not fear; boldness, not timidity; a willingness to plough forward, move ahead, as we have always done as Americans; not self-doubting waffling, and a failure to act. The economy is recovering; the people are recovering; I am recovering; to continue that we need strong, effective leadership.

Vote Trump on November 3rd."

He does that hard and consistently for 30 days and that 11 point lead will seem like dust in the wind.

Yeah, I mentioned on one of the first few pages this is what would happen and sure enough it’s exactly what is unfolding right now.

It won’t work. To the contrary, this messaging actually benefits Biden because it turns off senior citizens, who are already disgusted with how Trump is framing the matter. They rightfully don’t believe that Don the Con has their best interests in mind.

This is nothing more than a Hail Mary, thrown from the opposing end zone. Trump is toast and nothing will change that in a matter of four weeks. Also, the number of folks who have already voted are in the eight figures. Folks have, by and large, made up their minds.

I know though, we are still suffering from PTSD from four years ago and many of us are understandably waiting for Trump to pull a rabbit out of his hat.

I don't think anyone is going to change their votes because he didn't die from it. He was hospitalized, has access to the best doctors, treatment, drugs, things the average American won't have. If anything the fact that he need to be hospitalized shows how serious things are.

And if he does the "It isn't so bad" stuff he is going to piss off people that had one of the 210,000+ loved ones die.

“Mr. President, you’re the self-proclaimed healthiest man to ever live and you required a four day stint in a world class hospital and round-the-clock medical supervision at home afterwards coupled with extra oxygen and several drug cocktails including experimental drugs after you contracted the virus. How is the average American going to fight the virus without those advantages?”

Has anyone asked his doctors if they gave him hydroxychloroquine? I hope he gets asked about why he didn’t take that when he’s been insisting for months that it fights the virus.

Exactly this. That shit's not going to play to anyone but his base, and even those cultists have probably had someone they love/know die from it. Polls are already showing that something like 2/3 of respondents feel like his and his administration's carelessness is to blame for the outbreak amongst them. Plays right into the line of thinking that says that if they can't even take care of themselves, how are they going to take care of you?

Yeah I know Biden probably wouldn't do this stuff but the best way to get under a trolls skin like Trump is to call him out on the dumb stuff he has said and see what his response is to it. I'd ask him if he tried to drink any disinfectants as well.

Joe should bring a bottle of Clorox to the debate with a champagne flute for Trump.

Btw — and I’m not kidding — I think Joe should bring an air horn to the next debate and toot it right at Trump each time he interrupts.
