I can’t be bothered to look up the actual origin, but I believe that a “hot mess” refers to a pile of shit. Anyone else feel this way?
Fine. You wanna act like you're two? I'll act like I'm one.

So apparently it hailed from a hot meal service in the military (ever been to the Mess Hall?). Mess meaning a course of food.

Then in 1899 it takes a modern turn:

I say if [the public] would only stop to consider this before forming an opinion perhaps the wage-earners might win; but no, they believe everything they see in the newspapers. If the newspaper says the sky is painted with green chalk that is what goes. Verily, I say unto you, the public is a hot mess.

I wear boxer briefs. If I'm wearing gym shorts I go over the top for both. If proper pants, through the fly for both.

This has inspired me to try through the fly of the pants and over the top of the briefs. I'll be sure to report back.
These guys need a little bit more lead in their diet.

Not sure if you recall the crazy storm we had in June that damage my roof. 3x3' section of my roof had some damage (still no water coming in) so we called our insurance company. They sent their adjuster out and he made his report. Month later we get an email saying they're giving us $850. Sounded good, wasn't a big section so I was fine with it. We just got a letter last week saying we have to replace the whole roof by 10/27 bc it's too old. Holy shit.

did you get an independent adjuster? they usually make sure that you get a full section of roof paid for. who is the insurer?

So, is this a free roof other than deductible?

It's not a good time finding good people right now bc they're so backlogged from being shut down. Everyone we know has had a hard time getting anything done.

We had a small repair on our roof last week. Took a week to come out for estimate and 4 weeks for a fix.
