I don't disagree that the CBO is not a good target for Trump, but the man is fucking nuts. Literally anything could become a target at any minute.

I assume this one:

@realDonaldTrump
Buffalo protester shoved by Police could be an ANTIFA provocateur. 75 year old Martin Gugino was pushed away after appearing to scan police communications in order to black out the equipment.
@OANN I watched, he fell harder than was pushed. Was aiming scanner. Could be a set up?

The fact that he is using some glorified public-access TV show as a legit news source is not only embarrassing, it is fucking scary.

I would add that the CBO is generally regarded as a place of truth. They keep politics out of it and crunch the numbers. Trump attacks truth at every turn, and attacking the numbers will have to be done when we are in the middle of an economic crisis. I never said he would attack them to score cheap points. It's about undermining truth and reality at every turn.

"He was asking for it."

Isn't that essentially the argument? He wanted to be assaulted? Is that the "set-up?" Not that I care about following up on every Trump conspiracy theory, but I don't see how the thoughts of the protester matter here. A better explanation -- and it's still not a very good one -- is that "the man was verbally aggressive while ignoring lawful orders, and the level of force used was low. Every injury is a tragedy, and this was a preventable one at that. We need to do better as a nation to hear each other, to listen to one another, and minimize physical confrontations like these that injure both our people and our trust in one another."

When Trump eventually leaves the White House, will he be a flight risk? I could easily seeing him living out the rest of his life in safety and luxury in Moscow.

I hate to say it TD, but the OOAN is not only a "channel ", The f*** ing thing has a press pass. So the goddamn thing was set up for blowing smoke up Trump's ass, and clearly has made the easy turn into a full-on propaganda arm of a fascist want to be dictator.

I missed the Trump tweeted yesterday that he has a 96% approval rating in the GOP. I don't know who the hell is pollster is, and maybe that's what you guys are pointing to with McLaughlin, but there ain't no way he's got a 96% approval rating. Or maybe it's approval of something stupid, and by that I don't mean him

Guess if the Press Secretary is going to keep laying blame on him for physical violence on protesters, that he’s gonna push back.

First barr out to him for the needless lie about the bunker. Let's face it, if the secret service didn't move him to a place of safety as they tried to figure out what was going on they were just flat out not doing their jobs. Good on them, too bad the boss is a knucklehead. But then barr moved on to pushing back on who ordered the police advance and the military engagement. That's a lot more nebulous, except he said wasn't him. Who gets to wear that crown? I wish he had some bigger balls and would just put it at Trump's feet where it belongs.

That's probably not as far off as you suggest. People that no longer approve of him are not likely to identify themselves as Republican, by and large.

Or it could be — and I know this is a radical thought — that Trump is fibbing.

Page 27 of the recent CNN poll shows the stat was 91% of Republicans would vote Trump. Sampling error is plus/minus 7%.

Think the most interesting thing out there is whether or not Ossoff avoids the runoff.

Still don't quite understand why he didn't jump in the special rather than run against Perdue.

Vote for and approval rating are different. He'll end up doing better on the ballot vs. Biden than he does on his job approval because some Republicans who disapprove will still pick him over Biden, while virtually no Republican who approves won't vote Trump.

The Trumpiest part of this lie is his job approval among Republicans IS really really good (mid to upper 80s?). It's just not at 96% (or 95%, which he also likes to claim). He's at 94% of the vote tonight in the primary among registered Republicans in West Virginia. That's about the ceiling. But not good enough, so some made up number gets tweeted.

I did mean to comment on that one too earlier. 19% undecided/not voting for one of the main candidates in a race with a person as defined as McConnell is nonsense and the key there is McGrath at 41%. Like, she's competitive, and it's not impossible to imagine her winning in November. But it's easy for a Democrat to get to the low to mid 40s in Kentucky. The last piece is where it gets hard. Like being a Republican in New Jersey.

It’s an effort to orchestrate a cash grab I believe. Especially if it’s about McGrath. we actually get her campaign ads on TV. I have to assume that these things are being pushed to areas where there is money, and where there is general disgust with Mitch McConnell.
