He also wants a full blown convention with 50k delegates in an arena. Are all the Republican delegates stupid enough to attend? Especially since Arizona and Texas are potential hosts?

Can't let China win

50K? LOL he couldn't fill the Quicken Loans arena in 2016.

we got hit hard with bloomberg ads in az... hard. they were targeting trump and if he were up against him and not democrats in a primary, he would've won. they were pretty good. i don't think he needs to do that for biden, but damn it sure wouldn't hurt. i don't think it's as close as they say here in az anyway.

You've said this before but it is still unclear how you think he did this. If anything his candidacy gave Warren's faded campaign a glimmer of light.

"Bloomberg only cared about stopping Warren and Sanders"

last I checked neither are in the race. he cared about this tax rates. i never said in the above post that he was the one that singlehandedly drove them out of the race. i said he cared the most about stopping them.

so he's fine with whatever the result of the rest of the race is. neither president is going to impact his bottom line much. why spend money on it?

But Warren was already done before he entered the race.

I have no faith in Bloomberg whatsoever to come through, however if I were him and I did intend to spend money to help Biden I would be calling all my TV, internet, and radio sales contacts and buying up all the available time from the day after the DNC until election day, not wasting money now. Maybe even later: from the day after Labor Day to election day.

An outside counsel appointed to review the Justice Department's decision to drop prosecution of former national security adviser Michael Flynn concluded the case against Flynn should continue. John Gleeson, a former federal judge asked by Judge Emmet Sullivan who is currently overseeing the Flynn case, also accused the department of abuse of power in seeking to drop the charges.

I've seen this poorly worded description a few times. The swirly "decision to drop prosecution ... should continue." That English gymnastics aside, its super scathing to lay down the the DoJ specifically violated its legal obligations. That there is evidence of a “gross abuse” of prosecutorial power and that the government “has engaged in highly irregular conduct to benefit a political ally of the President.”

That is an outcome far more harsh then I expected, regardless that it is the truth. Gleeson did anything but pull punches.

I love that Pence is now out with statements that Flynn probably did not mean to lie to him. Dirt bag should share a cell.

Bloomberg called the NYPD his own private army and blamed the end of redlining for the 2008 financial crisis. He said the problem with stop and frisk is that it stopped too many white people. He might not be the money man for this moment.

Not to get all factual and recent, but:

Mike Bloomberg plots spending blitz to support Joe Biden's run for president

“As Mike has said, he supports Vice President Biden in defeating Donald Trump. We’re currently looking at how to best support Vice President Biden as well as Democratic victories up and down the ballot in November, just as Mike Bloomberg has done in previous cycles,” a Bloomberg spokesperson told CNBC.

Though it’s unclear how much Bloomberg will eventually spend, some of the people familiar with the matter noted that they anticipate Bloomberg to end up spending in excess of $250 million to support Biden, the apparent Democratic nominee. Any major financial support from Bloomberg backing Biden does not include what he could put toward assisting congressional Democrats. After dropping out of the Democratic primary for president in March, Bloomberg endorsed Biden and later announced his campaign would transfer $18 million to the DNC.

Definitely Stephen Miller's idea. Major dog whistle.

I did not look at the date when I saw this. It was more of an 'of course' reaction to him having an event. Now it is an OF COURSE HE IS HAVING A RALLY THAT DAY.

Know this, he wants out of DC that day as Juneteenth is always a celebration and this year it is targeted as a planned protest day.

and I did not process that it was Tulsa, of course it would be Tulsa.

For the first time in months, Trump is lining up in-person fundraisers, trips to his luxury resort in New Jersey and campaign rallies.

This.

Fuck Bloomberg, also. He's not on the dem side, he's on his own side.

I think it was more that he thought he could win the nomination if Sanders was the alternative.

This is probably true and he didn't want Sanders of all people. I think he's fine with Biden. Biden isn't going to change the financial stuff much.

At the Trump Administration’s request, Congress passed emergency funding legislation last year to help address the humanitarian crisis at the border largely created by this Administration and consistently made worse with repeated politically charged, anti-immigrant policies,” Homeland Security Chairman Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-Miss.) said in a statement.

"Instead of helping migrants and improving conditions on the ground, CBP then broke the law by spending this taxpayer money on things that were not authorized—such as ATVs, dirt bikes, and computer systems,” he added.
