From last night:

@atrupar
Trump has now posted an unfathomable 200 tweets or retweets today -- the most of any day of his presidency

Panicking.

Once we get close to the election him dropping out wouldn't totally shock me if the polls indicate a high probability of him losing.

He’ll never give up - especially with a wild election coming up.

Half of Philly votes still haven’t been counted since the primary. Can you imagine what November is going to look like?

Need to change precanvaasing rules. Originally counties weren't allowed to start counting mail in until 8 pm on election day. That was moved to 7 am. They need to be able to start a week or more before. Even a single day would be helpful. A lot of states count as the votes are received. There seems to be bipartisan support for changing it so we will see.

How? I don't find anything wrong with his quote. There is a small percentage of people in this country who are "not very good people" and are "deplorables." Why do we have to sugar coat that we have blatant racists and xenophobes in our country? Why shouldn't we appeal to the people who have a shred of morality?

Genuinely curious.

The psychology studies of criticism, and the most effective ways to criticize, suggest that criticisms of people for their intrinsic nature is not likely to raise the perception of the criticizer. I'm on my phone, and this is based on recollection. I don't see how saying "Many of my opponents are terrible people" is an effective communication strategy for any politician.

Basically, don't use this language because it's not effective. It makes one look bad. And Hillary Clinton got raked over the coals for nearly an identical observation.

Am I giving Trump too much credit and/or being too conspiratorial in thinking that it’s possible that he’s purposely being divisive to encourage protesting during a pandemic so that there can be an outbreak among people that support his opponents?

trump's approval ratings are about the lowest they've been in almost six monthes, validating to my mind the policy of just letting Trump be Trump is the best way to turn off voters from him.

Yes.

He's being purposely divisive but if there's any actual motive it's to rile his base.

And anecdotally, it’s working. In the primary had a lot of people who showed up to just vote for him in the republican primary. A lot of others who were registered nonpartisan came and wanted a Republican ballot to vote for him. Can’t say it’s the same everywhere, there are definitely people who are fired up for him.

I don't think he's playing political chess or anything, he's just hoping for a repeat of 2016. The plan as of 1/1/2020 was a booming economy and an easy walk to reelection. There has been no course correction because he's surrounded by people who are ignorant, selfish and very narrow-minded. He is going to play his greatest hits and see what happens.

I've seen Trump's new commercial about five times today on CNN, 6ABC, ect.

Where are Biden ads and Bloomberg's money?

The biggest reason there's been no course correction is because Trump is incapable of acting any other way. I don't know if he thinks this style helps him or he's just such a needy bitch that he prioritizes the petty bs over acting more normal, knowing it hurts him.

Probably a combination, IMO. It has to be mentally exhausting trying to keep up with someone whose brain is full of mush.
