I just moved a few months back but in the midst of all of this have enjoyed learning a lot about handyman type jobs. I’ve done small electrical, plumbing, and carpenter like work while in this lockdown and have really enjoyed it as a stress reliever. The hour I would normally spend commuting I now spend painting or sparkling or some odd job that’s in the “nice to do but not a must” category.

Anyway, small win in this I suppose. Anyone else finding things they like that they either didn’t have the time for or never dedicated focus attention to? And whether you’ll continue?

jetblue is doing a low altitude flyover of nyc with commercial airliners to show appreciation for whoever. that does not seem like smartest thing to do.

I'm really encouraged about Trump rejecting the CDC guidelines for next steps because it doesn't fit his economic agenda. But again, not a political issue.

It looks like more sheer numbers of people going in and out of new york spread their 'strain' of the virus...not a more virulent/spreadable version. It even makes up 1/3 to 1/2 of California/Washington cases. Feds took far too long to act and New York State/City botched it in early March.

Declines are definitely real but they're really slow, especially in SEPA. I wish the x axis was date and the y was cases/day though. You'd basically get total cases from an integral and it would be easier to track the trajectory over time. As is, the entire rise is like 6 or 7 weeks and the decline 2 or 3 when the rise looks like its 90% of the graph, not 66 or 75%. Basically saying that it makes the ramp up look more spread out and the fall more compact than it is.

DeBlasio has rightfully been dragged for how he's handled this but the lovefest for Cuomo shows how weakminded our media is. CNN might want to have someone other than his brother ask him some questions, especially since he cut Medicaid funding and just announced he's going to turn over management of the state and its schools to billionaires.
