can you possibly find an N95 mask anywhere? Put it out on your nextdoor and describe the circumstances and see if any neighbors might have one??

Awesome, she was texting her friends at the same time and got a sealed N95 from someone around the corner

she just left

It's good that she went. The risk is low to very low if you take all the precautions and people need to be able to mourn the loss of loved ones. It would have stayed with her if her stepmother passed without seeing her one last time. Have her take a shower when she gets home and throw the laundry in the washer, then wipe down the car with some clorox wipes if you have them. Done and done.

I just wanted her to wear something more than what we had. She wasn't listening to that part

It will be interesting to see. Clearly the number of cases detected running up to this date haven't really declined much, but that could be more due to expanded testing detecting less severely infected people. Or, not. Could be that death doesn't schedule great, along with the usual bureaucratic idiosyncrasies of the weekend. Certainly hoping it's a trend.

Still a few states to report, but it seems like for the second day in a row deaths in the US will be well below the 1500 mark (in fact perhaps below the 1200 mark). First time that has happened (two days in a row, that is) since April 3.

I have a hiatal hernia and was literally puking blood at one point from esophageal erosions. I started off on prescription protonix to get it under control and ever since I take one generic off the shelf omeprazole (42 pills from amazon s&s for $12) a day and have no problems.

I was a Zantac user before switching to Nexium. It was like a miracle! Started eating things I hadn't in years. Inadvertently purchased Prilosec before the lockdown and haven't missed a beat.

They all beat the years I kept a bottle of Pepto in my desk and took slugs from it throughout the day.

I took Prilosec for a few years for bad acid reflux but then it stopped working for me. Even while taking the drug, it felt like I was having stabbing chest pains randomly and like I was swallowing knives when I ate.

Doctor switched me over from a PPI (Prilosec) to an H2-blocker (Zantac), which I took for a couple years until it was pulled due to the concerns of links to cancer.

Have been taking Pepcid ever since but now that's apparently going to be difficult. Just checked all the usual places and they're pretty much sold out.

Wife and I registered for Phila Medical Reserve a few weeks ago but haven't been called to duty. I think they had plenty of volunteers for the CBP testing site and also the Liacouras Center which has barely been used.

This week's questionnaire was to see if we want to help with contact tracing. Supposed to commit a few hours per week to call people who tested positive (and presumably their contacts) and check on their condition. Will be interesting to see if they follow up. Most of what I've read indicates these should be paid positions since they are so important in snuffing out "second wave" outbreaks.

by the way, if you have an FSA, they've opened the floodgates on what can be reimbursed, retroactive to 1/1. So I just submitted all my tums & omeprazole etc. purchases since the beginning of the year and they got rubber stamped, just like the old days. i still may end up losing a bunch of $ by default this year since who knows when my kid's weekly OT sessions will continue, but this really helps.
