The article isn’t arguing a black female candidate for token’s sake. It is arguing that the most reliable demographic for Democrats is black women. The VP slot should be about winning the election, not necessarily strictly “most qualified.” There are choices that can end up biting you in the butt (see: Palin) but in my opinion all of the candidates listed in the article are at least more politically adept than Sarah Palin and would kill in a debate against Pence.
