Sigh. It really sucks to see opposition to something that will prevent deaths. It's just dispiriting.

from my understanding it is just in first class cities (philadelphia).

i think williams would be ok with them if they werent just in the city. he has talked about how there should be one in radnor etc etc.

That's incredibly petty

i didnt state that clearly. i think the point he is trying to make is that this is not just a philly problem why do we always get these solutions dumped on us when the suburbs just keep chugging along not helping with the problem kind of thing. the race/class disparity between the two is real for sure. i am not saying i agree with what they are doing or how but just trying to explain it (poorly).

Because residents of Philly have been working for 4 fucking years to get to this moment. It's besides the point of the site itself.

So much for being a progressive party.

You voted for Donald Trump and got suspended from Twitter.

I also voted for John Kerry which is much more embarrassing.

Furthermore I did not get suspended from twitter, rather banned for calling Wade Keller from the Pro Wrestling Torch a "rat bitch" which ultimately proved to be correct. Don't worry though, I was back immediately.

More embarrassing still would be choosing to vote for Trump again after seeing what his first three years looked like.

Obviously I think it's pretty evident we have a difference of opinion on that one.

Is this a "he isn't a Democrat" thing for you or do you actually support Trump and what he does and is doing? Serious question.

Trump was literally the first Republican Presidential candidate I voted for in my entire life. My voting record is Clinton, Gore, Kerry, Obama, Obama and Trump. I have no love for the Republican party as in general I think they are in general completely inept. I think Trump has done a fantastic job and he will 100% have my vote.

You are aware that all the candidates have posted extensive plans on their websites, right? Hard to sit here and read this when I've gone to Biden's site and read plenty about what he's offering. Might not agree with all of it, but there's stuff there. Maybe policy is lacking in these vapid debates, but it's not non-existent in other channels.

he certainly struggles to convey anything of substance

I don't disagree with this. He does speak with that sort of empathy as slugs says though, and that can connect with people. Hadn't been doing it much in the campaign so far, though it seemed like he finally broke through in the SC victory speech.

Like many people with early stage dementia, his ability to communicate as normal comes and goes. Trump is the same way.

Same as 2016, parscale and trump want to make people, especially progressives, stay home on election day. It's an effective strategy because mainstream media, which is already pretty hostile to bernie, plays right into it.

I also think there is a subset of Bernie supporters that would truly believe it too. The problem, as you pointed out, is the mainstream media making it seem like it’s a uniform problem with Bernie supporters and progressives.

I also think the problem is that many in the media are afraid Sanders' policies will take some of their money because they are mostly in the upper tax brackets. I mean, Sanders is taking a beating when I've watched and candidates are not being treated equally. Everyone is concerned about Sanders' weaknesses, but they largely ignore those of Biden. "Sanders is a socialist and talks too loud." Yeh, well, Biden has been terrible in national elections, seems to have early stage dementia, and his son magically got an extremely well-paying job with no real expertise for said job.

Paul Begala says that it is basically a metaphysical certainty that Pence becomes the fall guy for an incompetent administration coronavirus response and gets replaced on the ticket with Nikki Haley.

LOL

While I would hardly call it a "metaphysical" - or any other kind - of certainty, I would also be very hesitant to laugh at it as though it were entirely outside the realm of possibility. It's hardly as though this administration hasn't gleefully cut bait and/or blamed underlings before now.

I'd love to see that. Pence gets stained with "not good enough for Trump" and Haley gets stained with Trump's losing campaign before AG Schiff ramps up the prosecution

The presidential voting of brantt is more common than I would have thought, even if it's hard to put into a box/set of issues. And that's why Democrats are nominating Biden.

I am the polar opposite of brantt. Voted Republican or the Constitution Party (LOL) until I felt the moral obligation to hold my nose and vote Clinton. That was my first ever vote for a Democrat.

Edit:
Obama stands for nothing that Trump does. I'd be curious how someone could be happy with both Obama and Trump. What actions can you support on both? Obama, passing the ACA. Trump, trying to repeal it. Pro-bailouts, maybe? Obama, pursuing economic sanctions on non-democratic regimes. Trump, rolling them back. Obama, expanding food stamps, Trump, contracting it. Obama, support for DACA, Trump, opposition. They contradict each other on nearly every policy, outside of both willingly supporting an expansion of federal budget deficits and putting people in cages on the border. Obama supports bailing out the auto industry and banks, Trump bailing out the farmers. Maybe that's the unifying positions, that budget deficits don't matter, corporate socialism is good, and immigrants aren't people.

That was me too. If a sane R was running against Clinton, I very likely would have gone that way.
