I think this is true. They want Haley to blunt the blowback Trump is going to get from women in November.

The dems will also probably have a female on the ticket. If it's Biden, then I think Warren is the choice for VP. If it's Sanders, I think Abrams might be the choice. She might put Georgia in play. Or maybe he would also take Warren.

No way the ancient white man gets paired with ancient white woman as VEEP. 90% chance for Kamala, 10% for Abrams.

I think Warren as VP is a death sentence to any campaign.

Really, why? She hasn't done well as a candidate, but a VP is someone you want for support and the ability to meet with big whigs and talk about policy. I think she would be a great VP and we might even see an expansion of the VPs role in helping to form policy, etc.

You tell Michelle Obama the country needs her. Game over. I probably trust her running the country more than anyone in the race, actually. Also this would piss off Hillary so much.

If it's what you say it is, I love it.

I do fear it would be seen as a gimmick. Kamala is so solid. The only better thing would be to find a Kamala from a swing state.

I could see the Haley-for-Pence swap, but no way it's because they admit anything went wrong with their virus response. That will be blamed on Democrats and/or the media. If Pence gets booted, it would just be another occasional alpha display to show who's in charge

The presidential voting of brantt is more common than I would have thought, even if it's hard to put into a box/set of issues. And that's why Democrats are nominating Biden.

I am the polar opposite of brantt. Voted Republican or the Constitution Party (LOL) until I felt the moral obligation to hold my nose and vote Clinton. That was my first ever vote for a Democrat.

Edit:
Obama stands for nothing that Trump does. I'd be curious how someone could be happy with both Obama and Trump. What actions can you support on both? Obama, passing the ACA. Trump, trying to repeal it. Pro-bailouts, maybe? Obama, pursuing economic sanctions on non-democratic regimes. Trump, rolling them back. Obama, expanding food stamps, Trump, contracting it. Obama, support for DACA, Trump, opposition. They contradict each other on nearly every policy, outside of both willingly supporting an expansion of federal budget deficits and putting people in cages on the border. Obama supports bailing out the auto industry and banks, Trump bailing out the farmers. Maybe that's the unifying positions, that budget deficits don't matter, corporate socialism is good, and immigrants aren't people.

I'm not so sure about that.

-In terms of healthcare, Trump wanted to repeal and REPLACE Obamacare with something better the Republicans said they had cooking for years. Trump won and turned it over to them to pass a new program. Problem is they had absolutely nothing. Trump has stated he believes we need a national healthcare program, just that Obamacare was not the answer mainly due to the individual mandate. Congressional Republican incompetence dropped the ball here.

-Both in favor of government bailouts

-Obama expanded food stamps out of necessity, Trump contracted them because more people were working an didn't need government assistance. Obama would have done the same if he was still President

-DACA - DACA was a temporary program. Everyone agreed on that when Obama signed it. The D stands for deferred. Kicking it down the road is not the answer. Trump has stated several times he is open to giving the Dreamers a path to citizenship to the point he said if the SCOTUS shuts it down he will cut a deal with the Democrats that benefits them. Both agreed they should stay in the country though

Illegal Immigration - Go back and read or listen to Obama on illegal immigration. Do the same for BIll Clinton. I wouldn't call him a total hawk, but Trump has come under fire for not deporting as many illegals as Obama (and Clinton for that matter). The policies at the border that Democrats love to kill Trump for were started under Obama and he was continuing the same program. Tough issue for both for sure, but the Democrat position now which is essentially open borders did not apply at all to Obama. His views were more alligned with Trump (minus the rhetoric) than Bernie Sanders or Hillary Clinton

What other traditionally "Democrat" agenda items has Trump gotten done..........

-Bi-partisan prison reform
-Opportunity zones
-"Fair trade" which directly helps unions and blue collar workers
-Paid family leave

At the end of the day, Obama was not a true progressive, at least certainly not in the mold of Bernie Sanders or Elizabeth Warren. He was a moderate who had some liberal views but also a lot of views which would be labeled as centrist today. Trump is also not a true conservative, not even close actually. They are much closer ideologically than Trump would be with Sanders or Warren and the changing Democratic Party.

Fine, attribute the plan or lack thereof that fell apart to him. Who cares. It does not change the fact that he supports universal healthcare in this country without the individual mandate. That was the entire discussion point to begin with.
