Yeah, I guess the silver lining is that this will help prepare us for the real thing?

The response has been laughably disproportionate to the threat.

Idk. Italy is a shit show right now and we are probably more behind the eight ball than they were at this stage.

Still salty about Kobe beating Rip Hamilton in the District 1 final all those years ago, huh

If you haven't watched Netflix Explained Pandemic it may be worth a watch, this feels like SARS where China was late again to tell us and we may have had this virus in the USA for weeks or even months before we knew it.

Bernie rally in Cleveland for tonight cancelled.

Guess the next week there are going to be many many more closings and cancellations. Really starting to roll in this afternoon.

It's the private sectors fault now.

@AaronBlake
Interesting comments from CDC Director Robert Redfield:

"I guess I anticipated the private sector would have engaged and helped develop for the clinical side … I can tell you, having lived through the last eight weeks, I would have loved the private sector to be fully engaged.”

Massachusetts had 51 new cases today confirmed. More than doubling their totals. Going to be over 1,000 cases by the time we wake up tomorrow.

Hospitals are starting to tell our company that no reps allowed unless the OR director and the utilizing surgeon says it's necessary. No new business, no new cold calls.

My company internally just sent out some bullshit saying we are monitoring and prepared to institute whatever measures necessary.

I'm in hospital sales and I've surprisingly not heard this yet. What area are those facilities in? I have a hospital in central jersey that is going to start taking the temperature of all hospital visitors tomorrow before they can enter. Should be interesting. Also, I have a 200-bed hospital that has ZERO test kits available.

The State of NJ only has two test kits currently. Hospitals here can submit samples for 432 more patients to the state before the kits on finished.

Odds are we are probably already at like 5,000 cases, just don't have the test kits to confirm the people that had it.

I haven't heard that Egypt has any diagnosed cases but regardless, he should get out and dry himself off.

The early Virginia and Maryland cases were people who took a Nile River cruise.

From that town hall I mentioned earlier, the doctor briefing said that every two days the number of cases has been doubling and that models he saw had 500,000 deaths projected. This is the guy we brought in for straight talk for planning. Now what do the thousands of employees now think? I did want him to be optimistic or hide anything, but he straight up scared the shit out of people. Maybe a heads up would have been nice about the plan to put that out there, but then again I am thinking a doctor with an audience is something that is not easy to control.

Stopped Stopped by Wegmans, what a sight. Limit on 30 roll toilet paper Wego's brand (no others available), no had sanitizer, isopropyl alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, wipes, bleach, cleaning products, most of the soap products are gone, etc.

I did need TP, just wasn't planning on buying 30 rolls (one size fits all at the moment). The rest was just sort of nuts.
